Media We have great partners who continue to display their commitment to present Warhammer authentically and at the scope and scale befitting Warhammer.
On 10 December 2024 we announced the conclusion of our negotiations with Amazon for the adaptation of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe into films and television series, together with associated merchandising rights. This is a long-term partnership with Amazon - and these adaptations will take years to bring successfully to market. The project continues in line with our contractual agreement with Amazon. This same contract prohibits us from sharing certain specific details or commercial terms. What we can share is that Amazon has brought onboard United Artists (UA) and Mike Flanagan. Vertigo and Henry Cavill remain involved as they have been for some time. Having completed initial outlines, Mike should soon be moving on to script. Meanwhile, UA have been decisive and brought their renowned pace and quality to the project. Thank you.
In animation, we continue to build on the success of the Warhammer 40,000 episode featured in Secret Level. We have almost completed an episode for Secret Level Season 2, this time set in our Age of Sigmar universe. We have begun work on a full animated Warhammer 40,000 series featuring our Space Marines - Deathwatch. This series will be written by John Orloff, with Blur again animating, and released through Amazon. We can't wait to see it!

The ambull is the piece I'm most proud of (painted 2025), but the Intercessors were the first miniatures I painted on my return to the hobby in late 2019, and hobbying has done wonders for my mental health and social life. #nerdlings

Amidst the (good) news about Mike Flanagan working on the 40k show, there was also this statement in the GW financial report about AI, and the 6 fingered Marine.

As noted in our November 2025 half year report, we are not being complacent on the topic, we are carefully monitoring what others are saying and doing. We are not using Al at Games Workshop in our product design nor on the creation of our IP, this will protect the integrity and ownership of our IP. We have made a few human errors on the depiction of our products in our product marketing in the year, they were investigated fully to ensure that AI had not been used and that all our staff are following our internal policies.
◦An added complexity is the need to monitor and protect ourselves from a data compliance, security and governance perspective. Al or ◦machine learning engines now seem to be automatically included in third party software whether we like it or not. So it gets difficult for us to say we are not using Al outside of the Warhammer studio, something we are just going to have to potentially live with and monitor carefully.
We are proud to deliver consistent great returns employing great people (many of them hobbyists themselves) celebrating with other hobbyists in the real world. Our business performance is still built on staff development and hard work with very little waste.

Played my first game of Blood Bowl sevens today, and made my first touchdown in about 20 years (despite having played a few games in that time). Won 2-1 amd KOed an elf. #nerdlings #warhammer

Game designers constantly strive for clarity. If nothing else, it makes our time on the various forums and hobby platforms much easier when we answer questions about the rules. Like our levitating Panzergrenadiers, there are times when we know that a question is not about providing clarity where the text is murky but rather about gamers trying to manipulate the rules to allow them to do something that they well know is not intended. The most common answer in such situations is to say "Yes. The rules mean precisely what they say". Nobody wants to be the game designer who says "Don't be a dick,' but with ultra-competitive gamers we are in danger of them attempting so many summersaults of pseudo-logic in an attempt to gain a rivial advantage that game designers feel obliged to anticipate this. It will not make rules better or more fun, just much harder to read, more difficult to digest and most importantly - almost impossible to enjoy. So, let's be honest: maybe when you ask a quesgion, consider whether you are doing it because you don't understand the text, or whether you are doing it to simply gain an advantage over your opponent. Then remind yourself: Don't be a dick. WS&S
