I was looking back through my text messages and found this exchange I once had with someone making an obvious phishing attempt on a day when I was feeling a tad impish.

THEM: Do you want to go to eat tomorrow?
ME: If we eat tomorrow, we'll only be left with today and yesterday. No future! Only past and present moments leading inevitably to a sudden midnight oblivion.
THEM: I want to have dinner with you at French restaurant near Brea Avenue.

ME: That would be in Los Angeles. Alas I am on the other end of the continent. Probably just as well because if they serve tomorrow there it must be expensive indeed. Can you imagine how difficult it must be to wrangle an entire future day off the calendar? Let alone cook it!
THEM: I'm texting my friend isn't this Lisa's number?
ME: No, no Lisa here. But if they're not the kind of person to go out on a whim and destroy the future by casually and brutally devouring tomorrow off the calendar, you might want to consider a different restaurant.
