My understanding is that ICE detainees in Minnesota are shipped away from family/resources and friendly judges ASAP - how does getting an ICE facility established in Appleton (red marker) make any sense? Do we have a non-trivial number of detainees who are held locally (not flown out ASAP) already?

Yesterday was 2026's 102nd ICE flight at MSP. 25 people, in shackles, were flown off to Louisiana or Texas. This isn't unique to Minnesota - scenes like this play out every day across the country - ICE Air regularly flies to every city/airport on the map below.
