Man, when Persona 5 wants to hit had it really can. The 4th Palace, the "desert of the mind," does such a grab job at exhibiting Futaba's isolation & guilt. Perhaps the "tomb" metaphor is a bit on the nose, but I still feel the emotional weight in every conversation with her 🥲

Alright, I felt like this would happen, but we're switching it up tonight; sorry to the Granblue fans but Palworld has got me by the ghoulies and I need more! I need to see how more atrocities these dumb ass dinosaurs are capable of and I want to make another base NOW!
Palworld is so fun & while in the pic below we see Not-a-Gym-Leader in a fight for a Not-a-Gym-Badge, I was surprised in my first night that the game I feel Palworld draws the most inspiration is ... Rimworld. I mean, it's a Crimes-Against-Humanity simulator, so that tracks 🤠
Damn, what a journey. Despite the 13 hour ... we'll call it a "date" with Sigrun, my replay of God of War 2018 was something special. Playing it after having now played 2, 3, & Chains of Olympus I feel a deeper weight to the story. Deff part of my top 10 of all time ❤️

Tangentially related to the death of physical games, I was reminded of the episode of "A Dark Quiet Death" from Mythic Quest. Some great scenes in a game shop about people connecting & reminiscing. The show overall is ok at best, but this stand-alone episode is absolute cinema 🥲
Phew. The "Atreus is a petulant, entitled little shit" arc in God of War is deeply triggering to me, and I'm not even a parent 😂 I really do love all Kratos as a father in this game and how is own brand of toxic masculinity is broken down over the course of the story.
I've become one of those gamers: putting a collectible figure in a protective case. Well, I only feel the need for items and things that have a very special place in my heart and Lilith has quickly become one of my favorite video game characters ever so no dust for her!
What great scene. I'm so glad I played through God of Wars 1-3 & CoO because of the weight of this scene means so much more over just playing the first game. The 'ghost' of Athena looming as Kratos realizes he can't hide from his past anymore & must use it to save Atreus 🤌🔥
