I love that this is the anecdote he opens with and then concludes "we are in a civil war" because a lady had the most middle-of-the-road boundary. Like, she's not even against all Republicans! What are you doing, man?

An excerpt from an op-ed from an old Republican complaining he can't get laid because of politics. The quote reads as follows:

“I never asked you about your political views. I have no problem with Republicans, but if you are a MAGA Republican, it would be difficult for us to develop a friendship."

Wow. That comment threw me for a loop, but it made me reflect on the bitter divisions within the country. It is literally a civil war.

There is a tiresome back-and-forth you can look up if you want to. But I think this attitude is an example of what's wrong with dem messaging. Those people who feel strongly that trans kids shouldn't be in sports? Yeah, they're never voting for you. Stop chasing them. They are not "gettable"

This is a non-issue being brought up by bad-faith actors looking to use it as an entry-point into their larger quest to ban trans healthcare and trans social acceptance on all levels. Even treating their concerns as reasonable gives them a credibility they don't deserve.

I've pulled out some relevant passages from the article you clearly didn't read. On one hand you have some anecdotes about a vanishingly small number of people in one US state. On the other hand, we have peer-reviewed scientific studies. Who can say who has better evidence, really?

I can't say I know "the other side" of this in detail, but I recognize the pattern. Once they convince themselves that someone is sufficiently evil they just start throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. It's sociopathic and also classic MAGA behavior.

ChatGPT is 3 years old. No one was still talking about Smart Phones like this in 2010. The Internet itself grew more slowly, but, still, you didn't see this sort of defensive ranting about it in the early 90s. If a product is useful, you do not have to do this. A good product stands on its own.

The bots over on r/conservative show what the marching orders are now. He was arming himself to "interfere"with ICE agents. That the ICE agents approached *him* rather than the other way around is irrelevant. But even in the comments there are people going "I dunno about this..."

So, this is all unimaginably stupid. But I do love the detail that someone has clearly told him that Norway doesn't control the Nobel Prize and ol'pudding-brain over here is just, like, "nuh-uh." This has to be the stupidest way an Empire has come to an end.
