#TimeTravelAuthors #Day27 I wouldn’t say I am surprised by the time travel. I am surprised at how long it has taken me to write the damn thing.
Listening to my current audiobook and I just learned that Theodore Roosevelt visited Pompey’s Pillar and was left speechless. Same, Mr . President.
Hello, and Happy Sunday #ParkChat. We’re road trippin’ through ND today. I’ve not canceled bc of wildfires, but I have been detoured in late summer 2015. Also made it difficult to see the depth of Crater Lake.
It’s going to be warm today, so the birds are out and about early.
A10: I love when I get to a campground and I’m the only one there, like the Tongue River Reservoir SP (WY) and the Sage Creek Campground on the Custer Gallatin NF (MT). #ParkChat
A8: Hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway on the south end of Shenandoah. I didn’t drive it because I wanted to make Congaree by nightfall. #ParkChat
A7: I wish I could hike the North Country Trail but 1) it would take me longer than the hiking season and 2) wolves in the UP. I did hike a short stretch in North Dakota at Fort Ransom SP. #ParkChat
A5: I went camping and roamed around the Lower Paintrock Campground on the Bighorn NF (elev. 9300ft) and Wheeler Peak Campground (elev. 9886ft) in Great Basin NP. #ParkChat
A3: I’ve only been to one NY NPS site: Saratoga. We were on our way to the site of Fort William Henry on Lake George for a little “Last of the Mohicans” outing. #ParkChat
A2: I recommend alternate forms of transportation. Just like we hike to interior portions of national parks, boats, bikes, even burros, can help get around. #ParkChat
A1: It was rainy when I visited Acadia, so I didn’t get to watch the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain. The skies cleared about the time we left, so we went to the lookout point atop the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. #ParkChat
Spent today volunteering at a National Monument with a ranger half my age. I learned so much stuff from her while we tag teamed. What a joyful way to celebrate America while learning history!
Sometimes you have to stop and smell the poppies. But apparently it’s taboo to take a picture of said sniffing.
#TimeTravelAuthors #Day29 So how’s my #TimeTravel adventure coming along? Waaaay toooo slooooow. I want a long weekend - or maybe a whole week - just to write.
Bases loaded. Extra inning. Astros won. Hubs had fun.
Here's my DOI site for this weekend. I'll be here on Independence Day, too. #ParkChat
Hubs is finally getting to use his birthday gift
The best recent picture is from June 12, but there are winter weather advisories for the Beartooths and Absarokas through tomorrow. #ParkChat
Hi all! I can't wait to spend time with all of the #ParkChat community. Here's a sneak peek...
