If I wasn't having fun, this would be intolerable.
New Zealand seems to be an easy place for people elsewhere to make up bullshit about. Anything you hear about us from not us is probably made up. We have a graphic for it:
She's not enjoying it on as many levels as I am, I'm sure. But Audition by Pip Adam gets the Floofy seal/face rub of approval.
Gertrude Abercrombie's Three Cats (1956). There's an exhibition on this year, Gertrude Abercrombie: The Whole World Is a Mystery, sadly too far away for me to go, but they've got a playlist and a book I'll be digging into.
Our cat also pees blood, and after two trips to the vet they figured out it was stress. Stress! Look at this thing. Where is the stress? Anyway, she has a special diet now and it's completely fixed the problem.
I have a bike now, so I popped my morning coffee in a travel mug and rode down to the ocean to drink it.
I got an image for reference, but now that I'm looking at it, it's a lot less intimidating than I thought. Maybe if it looked less bored with the whole thing, it might work.
After we got back from the vet (she's fine), Athena slept for a while and then suddenly woke up and remembered she was furious with me.
"Pass me some garlic butter, I'm about to make history" - the first chef to make a 'surf 'n turf', probably.
Apparently this thing has such stress she needs a special diet to avoid UTIs. She's an indoor cat who sleeps on a pile of duvets all day. I wish my life was that stressful.
It's a trap. It's always a trap with this one. She's got a very soft (I imagine) spot on her belly and it'll be the last thing you touch with that hand if you go for it.
Look at her. She's just so happy and grateful to have people who love her so much and have the time and resources to make sure she gets vet care when she's unwell.
