Princess Eugenie has her third child, a girl, in Lisbon. She has two sons with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. (The announcement makes no mention of her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson)

Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.

The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.

Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.

One gesture of support came from King Charles III, Canada’s head of state, who symbolically planted a red maple tree in Buckingham Palace’s garden. When the king made plans to visit Canada, Starmer was nervous about provoking the U.S. president, according to officials involved in those discussions.

The slightly more sober-minded residents of the adjoining neighborhoods registered the more traditional objections. They said Senakw was too tall and too dense. They sent protest letters to Queen Elizabeth II. (In Canada, complaints about federal land are still addressed to the British sovereign.) They sued to prevent the city from signing an agreement to provide services. None of it worked. Senakw’s special legal status protected the project.

“The response from the crowd brought me to silent tears,” said Seymour Knox IV, watching from his usual perch. “I think it was one of the highlights in the 30 years of the arena.”

Knox’s father and uncle, Seymour Knox III and Northrup Knox, co-founded the Sabres in 1970. They chose to spell it that way to conform to the Old English style used in Canada. The Knoxes also wanted both national anthems played before every home game — even if the opponent was a U.S. team — to honor Canadian players and fans.

Fifty-five years later, Sabres fans know the words to “O Canada” almost as easily as “Happy Birthday.”
