I went to the protest at Philadelphia PA City Hall today. The energy was positive, but the outrage was loud and clear.
I hope Threlkeld never found Sam, and that he continued to live free. Every human being has the right to self-determination.

How I feel about banning books, Exhibit A. Were any of those book-banners ever teenagers? When I was a teen, if adults told me they didn't want me seeing something, I didn't waste time getting my hands on it.
My grandfather, Joseph Hedges, created this pen-and-ink work on pink linen, still in the original frame. It's a family heirloom. I can't tell the date, I'm guessing he did this around 1915 or so. My parents and grandparents always called it "Gibson Girl." I'm grateful that we still have this.
