Alongside my colleagues Kim Johnson MP & Maria Eagle MP we attended a meeting with Donna & Natalia from LivPac today to discuss SEND provision & issues in the city as well as the proposed government reforms. An interesting & productive meeting. I look forward to our continued working.
On issues like yesterday's debate on the early release of prisoners, it is vital we put party politics aside for the greater good
Today, I asked the government how allowing the early release of dangerous sexual predators and members of grooming gangs fits with our manifesto commitment to halve violence against women and girls.
I have several constituents who are still suffering as a result of the unacceptably long delays to their pensions by Capita. Today, I asked the Government to assure the House that no further contracts will be awarded to Capita.
My question to the Government regarding the shortage of housing for veterans ⬇️
Privileged to be with Love Wavertree today to celebrate their sixth year anniversary. Such an uplifting event, with commitment, kindness & hope Congratulations to all who received awards with a particular mention to local champion, Joyce Edwards who is a pivotal part of our community.
Great to catch up with my good friend Derry Matthews, Martin Murray & his wife Gemma Murray today. The education project they run addressing knife crime, drugs & ASB is phenomenal. The results have been incredibly impressive. I'm looking forward to working with them to deliver in schools in Lpool
An interesting visit to Ford Halewood Plant today with my colleagues Derek Twigg MP & Maria Eagle MP. We had a tour of the plant to see the incredible work they are doing before discussing the challenges the sector is currently facing.
Reading for pleasure can support children’s learning and help break down barriers to opportunity. It was great to join Literacy Trust in Parliament to celebrate the #NationalYearOfReading2026.
Delighted to support my good mate Andy Fox-Hewitt for FBU President. Andy is a tireless campaigner & understands the difficulties our firefighters face. He would be a fantastic president & ensure all views are heard & represented whilst also fighting for the betterment of the sector as a whole
A privilege to catch up with the grandparents of my constituent Jake McGregor-Howe today in Parliament. Ann & Keith were there as part of the Friedrich's Ataxia drop in ensuring parliamentarians understand the issues that those with this rare disease face.
Despite my regular representations to Liverpool City Council & United Utilities for the last 4 years about gardens in Abbeystead Road flooding from Thingwall Allotments no solution has been found I've asked the minister to intervene & meet with me, residents, Lpool City Council & United Utilities.
Great to catch up with UNISON General Secretary, Andrea Egan tonight as we celebrated the Centenary of the Trade Union Group of Labour MPs and mark the passing of the Employment Rights Act (2025)

Today I asked the minister what further steps the government could take to address the issue of child poverty, particularly in my constituency of Liverpool Wavertree.
Today the Labour government has repealed the Vagrancy Act. For over 200 years this act has criminalised those who are homeless, with the act being used over 400 times in the last two years. There's still lots to do but I'm delighted that this step has been taken.
Lovely afternoon at Mossley Hill Festival. Great family event in the sunshine. Well done to Rev Rachel & all volunteers making it a huge success. Pleased to catch up with my constituent Paul who's son Jake McGregor-Howe has Friedrich's Ataxia. An issue I raised in PMQs on Wednesday.
This Armed Forces Day, I want to say a huge thank you to all those who serve and protect our country.🇬🇧
Great to be at Lark Lane Farmers Market this morning with some of our fabulous activists. Then onto campaigning in Edge Hill ward in my constituency with our great Councillor Naz Hasan. Lots of great conversations & casework picked up.
Some good news! After 121 MPs signed a cross-party letter, Lloyds has changed course.

Great to meet with the International Network of Street Papers, founded by the Big Issue. The INSP creates routes into income, community, and financial independence for people who often face barriers to employment. Vendors are able to earn and take steps towards stability on their own terms.
My constituent Jake, a 16 year old boy, has been diagnosed with a rare and swift acting neurodegenerative disease that is not currently treated by the NHS. Jake's family is having to crowdfund to pay for treatment in Berlin. No family should be put in that position. My question to the PM.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads, grandads, and father figures celebrating today. Thinking of those whose dads are sadly no longer with us, including my own lovely dad. Whatever you do today, I hope you have a wonderful day.
Thanks to my constituents Linda, Annette, Nicky & Reverend Phil who invited me to a film screening of the People's Emergency Briefing this evening. A great event that raised the incredibly serious issues that the climate crisis poses to our health, food security, defence, economy & so much more.
I think the Prime Minister needs to set out a timetable for his departure and make way for a new leader, which I believe should be Andy Burnham. 1/3
I recently had the pleasure of attending an event at Liverpool Museum to celebrate Jewish history month. It was particularly interesting to see the Galkoff's & Secret Life of Pembroke Place exhibition. Thanks to Jeremy Wolfson & the Merseyside Jewish Rep Council for their work on this project.
