This has worked out better than I hoped. Coneflowers spilling into zinnias (with salvia mixed in) then into vincas.
A lot of times I can't taste the difference between garden grown and stores (zucchini tastes like zucchini). But that's not the case with tomatoes. Can't get the varieties and flavors from stores you can get from home grown.
Deep enough in summer that the annuals are filling out the main bed and the summer perennials are still going strong.
Zinnias may be pretty basic but the deer leave them alone and they look great.
The back English-ish garden looking into the vegetable garden all doing their thing.
Front border filling out with summer. Daisies doing what I hoped they would.
These drumstick allium have been a pleasant surprise. From the right angle it looks like they're floating on air because the stems blend into the grass.
Honeysuckle floating (a North American variety so not particularly fragrant, but the hummingbirds like them).
Enjoying some of blue lupines scattered throughout the garden. Started these from seed back in March.
Snapdragons (which managed to overwinter in this spot) with a lily peaking out. Liatris about to flower.
Delphinium, flox, and allium all coming along now. Bees enjoying the allium.
Encouraging others to vote. Not sure if any of these will, but if even one (or two!) folks vote that otherwise would not have I'll consider that a success.
