The image shows a wide cinematic scene of a huge blue-grey summer sky filling most of the view. A narrow strip of the ocean extends from left to right across the bottom quarter of the image. Sitting in the centre and close to the bottom of this ocean scene, amongst the waves, is a very small white yacht with a bright red sail, sailing across the scene.

It evokes the huge expansive size of the oceans, but also the peace that can be found from "getting away from it all".

The background to the photography print reads:

"Little Red Yacht" (2020), from the minimalist seascape photography series "Upon A Painted Ocean".

Taking inspiration from "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, "Upon A Painted Ocean" looks to capture the vastness of the oceans, and how small we all are.

But also how, in this increasingly fast and hectic world, it's possible to find solace in Nature, by setting sail and catching a breeze.

Limited Edition prints of the series are available in various sizes, up to the extra large 60 x 30 inches. Created using archival fine-art paper and pigment inks.
