Thursday's figures show that 20% of the total referrals were because of concerns over extreme right-wing ideology - an increase from 1,480 to 2,103 in the previous 12 months - while 8% of referrals concerned Islamist extremism.
A further 8% of referrals concerned fascination with extreme violence or mass casualty attacks, 1% concerned Incel extremism, and 0.3% concerned left-wing extremism.

Concerned by the rise in the number of children taking medication for ADHD, with boys aged 10-14 comprising the largest group being medicated[2], Max meets with a young family who want to see whether holistic lifestyle changes can eliminate one boy’s use of ADHD medication. This boy undergoes an experiment over several weeks, replacing medication with sporting and creative activities, increased time spent outdoors and decreased access to screens and ultra processed foods. Will these changes enable him to come off medication altogether?

Dr Max Pemberton said: “As a psychiatrist, I've watched ADHD go from a diagnosis that was only occasionally made and after careful assessment, to one that is increasingly demanded and dispensed, and I wanted to understand why. There's no doubt that the people seeking these diagnoses are genuinely struggling; that isn't in question. What the film asks is whether ADHD is really the best explanation for that struggle and my hope is that we come away with permission to ask better questions about what modern life is doing to all of us.”

Who won women the vote?
"It's not possible to imagine women winning the vote without the suffragettes," says Ms Connelly,
"The militant organising, particularly of working class women, pointed to the possibility of a movement that would grow and could potentially become an enormous mass movement."
Both sides of the movement halted their campaigns in 1914, in order to support the war efforts.
World War One and women undertaking jobs usually done by men was the catalyst for extending votes to women.

"It was the suffragists who said that if you give the vote to more classes of men then you must include women," says Ms Crawford.
"The whole idea of what women could be, had changed by then - with all the work they'd been doing in World War One - that the government felt able to make this concession."
Ms Connelly agrees that the suffragettes were inspired by the suffragists, but that ultimately both movements played their part in winning the vote by organising women on mass in so many different ways.

Nope. Just one example, Guido Fawkes was named #36 in the top newsmakers of 2006 by the Independent, and GQ ranked him #28 number 28 in their list of the 100 Most Influential Men in Britain. Both prior to him being ‘outed’ as Paul Staines. He probably had more credibility when he was anonymous!

You’ll excuse me for not trusting WHO’s opinion regarding how a disease spreads or the risk of human-to-human infection.

In an update on Thursday, Dr Maria Van Kerkhove from the World Health Organization (WHO) stressed it was not the start of a pandemic, saying:
"This is not Covid, this is not influenza, it spreads very, very differently."
Unlike diseases such as measles, which are highly contagious and spread easily, the Andes strain of hantavirus behind the outbreak is not that infectious.
Human-to-human spread is possible but the risk of infections globally remains low, says WHO.
