She needed some experienced talent handlers, which is what I had done for most of my career in live TV, starting in 1993 on the Kennedy Center Honors. So Iras assigned to the Celebrity Talent, basically making sure they get delivered to the DGA Stage Managers on time for their live "hit," and dealing with all their needs backstage. That first year I was assigned to Piers Morgan. In subsequent years I handled the musical performers, such as Cyndi Lauper. Then for the final three seasons, I was Ivanka Trump's exclusive handler. That's when the fun really began, LOL.

March and March Movement leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has announced that the organisation will stage marches every Thursday for the next six months as part of its campaign calling for undocumented immigrants to leave South Africa. Ngobese-Zuma made the announcement while addressing supporters during Tuesday's march in Durban.
She rejected claims that Tuesday's action was intended to be a national shutdown, saying the march was instead the beginning of a sustained campaign. "This was never a national shutdown. We are starting a programme of marching every Thursday for the next six months until undocumented immigrants leave the country," she said.
Ngobese-Zuma also warned that the movement was planning a much larger nationwide action within the next three months. "People should expect a massive shutdown in the next three months where the whole country will come to a standstill," she said.

Any incident is regrettable, but the poor turnout, in Cape Town at least, for the anti-immigrant March and March shows there is no majority sentiment to mobilise against foreigners. A relatively small group, driven by its own interests, has tried to amplify anti-immigrant rhetoric.

The situation in Cape Town today remains calm.
A few incidents have been reported to the City's Disaster Coordinating Team - although these are not confirmed to necessarily be linked to the shutdown threat.
Units are on scene at:
• a gathering of approximately 40 persons in Bloekombos
• a handful of persons gathered on the Grand Parade
• an incident of attempted looting of a shop in Gugulethu - SAPS intervened, assisted by Metro Police
Major transport interchanges are operational, with no issues reported.
The City is also liaising with its network of Neighbourhood Watches - no concerns have been flagged at this time.
Staff are deployed across the metropole to manage and respond to any incidents linked to the threat of xenophobic violence.
The public is also reminded to please report any incidents or credible threats to the City's Public Emergency Communications Centre on 021 480 7700.

But he was in Durban, and if she told him she was scared of sitting in the self-driving SUV she'd chosen to be in-side, that would only earn her an eye roll and "First-world problems" comment from him. If she called her mom, stress, stress, stress. So she waited it out as the car got on the highway.

I'm very much in the market for a Linux computer like the Steam Machine but... aftermath.site/steam-machin...

It’s hard to fault any console or PC maker for raising their prices in an environment this rancid, but I am still bummed out. The Steam Machine was supposed to do something very important for PC gaming generally and Linux computing specifically: provide a stable and affordable goal for others to build on, and to continue the work in the living room that the Steam Deck did with handhelds. If Sam Altman and his cadre of chicken-necked freak friends hadn’t decided to gobble up the global memory and RAM supply, it could have been a slam dunk. For now, it’s a wonderful if modest little computer for those who can afford it, that is doing important work for what comes after.
