I’ve carried this ticket in my wallet since the night I attended @thetragicallyhip.bsky.social show in #Toronto as part of their final tour. It’s a talisman of unimaginable human strength. #GordDownie imprinted his mark on every #Canadian whether they knew it or not. 🎶🖤🇨🇦
Our little cat with a big name “Youngsmile" we called her “Mouse" was an Oriental Shorthair, aka Siamese with different colours. Our feline family includes her mom and granny cats, both heartsick when she left us. Mouse was doglike, she liked to play fetch! Loads of love in her, and sorely missed.
Pulling on my heartstrings. #gardensofbluesky #flowers #bleedinghearts
Ignore the dandelions, we’re following the no mow May policy to assist #pollinators, but do please enjoy this snap of a wee robin, mid splash in our backyard. It was quite a sight to watch the birds take turns splashing and shaking during their daily bird bath. 🪶 #birds #birdsky
An unexpected #bird sighting in our backyard today had darling daughter rushing for her good camera, while I simply snapped a quick pic on my phone. Thanks for visiting! 🪶 #rosebreastedgrosbeak #addbirder #birds @celestee3.bsky.social
Chai Tea is a handsome fellow! I’m familiar with the vocalization of the Oriental shorthair, one of ours starts calling out to me while I’m doing my morning yoga. Sibyl has no respect for the downward dog!
I’m thrilled to meet another aficionado of the breed! My daughter’s first pet was a Lilac Siamese who lived a long, well loved life with us. Our first Oriental Shorthair is Cassiopeia, we then adopted her granddaughter Sibyl, lastly her daughter Youngsmile, aka Mouse, who sadly passed last summer.
My daughter and I took an online class with the National Gallery in Ottawa, here is a photo of our kitchen table during the class. It was good messy fun!
I don’t speak Spanish, but I loved every word! Touchdown for #BadBunny #SuperBowl2026
A hungry red, aka, Northern Cardinal feeds at my daughters backyard camera feeder. Posted with her permission of course! @celestee3.bsky.social #birds #birdphotography #birdsofBlueSky
The rules are flexible for adorable felines, I understand this well.
Sibyl, my daughter’s #orientalshorthaircat is attempting to take down a leaf, but through the glass door. If it’s not obvious, we have a very, scaredy cat!
I’ve mastered the chocolate chunk shortbread cookie; hence, consumption of same while reading has become my second holiday skill!
When @celestee3.bsky.social was away in August, little one became ill lost 2 lbs. in three days. On Celeste’s return, the vet made a house call. Miss Mouse, official name Youngsmile, died in my arms. Grandmother cat was present, but mumma cat ran to hide. Animals are fiercely clever, hence, grief.
Thanks for asking. They are still grieving the loss of little one. Her mum yowls, that distinctive Siamese yowl about 3 am when she can’t find her. Grandmother cat has lost patience with that behaviour. We give lots of love, playtime and occasional doses of sedative, to cats, not us!
Post a random picture, if you feel like it. Remember to include Alt text. I’m feeling very random…
My Cassiopeia cat, snoozing on her furry pillow. #OrientalShortHairCat No cheating, post the last picture of your pet!
While breed counts, the personality matters. Ours are Oriental Shorthairs, ie Siamese with different colouring and can often be standoffish, but our three are total lovebugs. They get heaps of attention and they give same in return.
My backyard trees with frozen H2O dip. I live in the path of a three day ice storm, captured this view from an upstairs window. #OntarioIceStorm2025 @instantweather.bsky.social
Move to a smaller city they said… You can swim in the water at the beach, have easy access to ski hills. Small town community “feels” with big city amenities. What they didn’t tell me; tornado warnings and lake effect snow. Note please, that shovel reaches my shoulder when I’m standing straight!
Sometimes I can be a tad cheeky, just ask my daughter… #FordFailedOntario #onpoli @celestee3.bsky.social
Juxtaposition. Gentrification. #Bridge and original mill building Almonte, Ontario
#Caturday night in with a rousing game of #Catgammon It appears that Cassiopeia is one lucky feline, rolling boxcars or midnight, with the dice. Any guesses on who will win?
