(2/2) But feel free to play around with different midtone colors in the bg too, bc of course everything is also going to look more saturated on gray and color will look different depending on what it's against - whether a warm indoor bg, grass, sky, etc.

Just a small rec for character designing: Start off with a mid-tone bg color. It helps get a sense of how actually light/dark a skin color is. Starting off on a white bg is only going to skew that, because of course everything looks darker and more saturated on ABSOLUTE WHITE. (1/2)
