If my lawn had not suffered enough by being barbecued by the sun, this little shitehouse is currently developing an 18 hole golf course on it. Every time I go out another hole has appeared, surrounded by nut shells!
Great result for England in a game in which the yellow card nearly ruined a good contest. Still questions for England, the main one being Marcus Smith. If you are going to play him at full back you have to find a way to utilise his talents to outweigh his deficiencies. Use of Pollock as well.
I know it’s not a full sqt and form is shite but it’s over 18 mths since I had 200 kg on the bar. I had to set the safety bar a notch higher than normal. #FuckCancer #NHS
I've just discovered Nigel Farage's secret line of attack when the face to face debate comes long. Count Binface is a little shaky on what a Wigan Kebab is
Just a picture of ducks on Cutacre Country Park. It's time to stand up for equal opportunities for ducks on Bluesky. I know it's a bit Ducks Everywhere Initiative (DEI) but fairness counts in life
160kg hack squat.Best since my op. Beat cancer, don’t let it beat you. Every little success is a win, #BeatCancer#FuckCancer#NHS
Watching Wigan today reminded me of the Shaun Edwards quote, " At Wigan, the only excuse for not being in the defensive line, was a broken leg" Its in the Wigan DNA.
Quite possibly, the greatest manifesto never to win an election. Instead we get "a pair of the lashes with a t-shirt" (not my words) when we could have had a large magnificent bin with ideals, vision and the common touch
This utter gobshite is my councillor, he was thrown out of the Tory party due to be a racist prick. He is also a man obviously in need of prayers.
On UK Forces Reserves Day, a big thank you to everyone for their service.
One year today since I had my kidney removed and one year cancer free. if you are starting out or still on your journey, keep the faith and believe that your strength will get you there.
111 yrs ago, in 1915, another vainglorious braggart sent 58k young men to their deaths in a futile amphibious led campaign. Churchill tried to redeem himself by serving on the Western Front. I hope American families are not made to suffer loss by Trumps hubris.
This is possibly the most serious resignation yet for the Government with a defining breakline between welfare spending and defence of the country. We are already woefully thinned out and this appears to signal a continuation of the trend.
My mother's Uncle Jim and my great Uncle Jim, who neither of us met. He was on his way to a war from which he didn't return.
Wonderful warm Wigan. Beautiful pier, buildings of historical importance and world class cuisine.
Rugby has lost one of its greats. Rest in peace Slatts, there's not been many better.
My paternal grandfather and grandmother. Apparently I am his reincarnation both looks and personality.
You ruined my 1998 Wembley trip but all is forgiven. Rest in peace John Kear, one of the great men of rugby lea gue.
1957/8 ish. Council house in Tyldesley. I soon went from cowboys to girls
I drove through Hindley today, part of the Makerfield Constituency. The House board count was 6 for Andy(echoes of when the Tories forgot to Inc the fact that they were Tories) and 5 for Reform. At Wembley on Sat Reform was the Fans choice. The Greens appear missing in action. going to be close
A photograph of my maternal grandmother. Unfortunately I don't know the date or context; just a moment in time.
Wigan the spiritual home of rugby. Men and women's teams win their cups at Wembley. And Union is also thriving in the borough. Add to that, the cup was presented by Wigans own, Shaun Edwards the only person to have captained the England schools Rugby League and Union teams.
Sacred Heart Parish,Tyldesley, Whitsun Walk 1960 with a 9 yr old me. Blazer and pea cap
This is the latest Reform councillor "Self Vetting" recruitment tool. Apparently if you can select three that best describe you, then you don't need to go through the official vetting process.
Massive congratulations to Bordeaux Begles in the Champions Cup final. Superb dominating performance. Worth remembering to everyone going on about a normal"club" beating an Irish province, UBB's budget is at least twice the size on Leinsters
Back to what was a much simpler place in time. Moustaches, mini skirts and tansads. RAF West Raynham station sports day. Flying without wings. Happy Friday everyone.
A faded photograph of my grandparents on my father's side probably between 1916/1920 in Ireland. They were both good musicians and my grandfather could sing a bit, especially on Sunday afternoons.
54y this weekend I drove home from Norfolk with a couple of squadron friends for the festival. It never stopped raining. Fortunately we stayed at my parents. The festival was superb The car was like a steam room on the Sunday night journey back to base with 2 very bemused southerners on board.
