Crappy headline: of course cancer doesn't "care" but it does matters if Republicans follow MAHA pseudoscience suggestions for cancer care and don't get state-of-the-art medical treatment. Oh, and yes, RFK Jr and MAHA and Trump EPA failures to address #water contamination will worsen cancer rates.
You'd think that if you had billions of dollars you could afford to be a decent human being, but apparently not. #elonmusk
This from RFKJr's CDC is the classic "burden of proof fallacy" and a gross abuse of science. In science (and law) the burden of proof rests on the person making a positive claim ("vaccines cause autism") to provide supporting evidence, NOT the job of the opposition to disprove it.
This is explicitly a war crime under all definitions of international law. Either no one told Trump and Hegseth, or they don't care.
You know what's sad & funny at the same time? Trump just lashed out at a National Academy of Sciences #climate report but attacked the wrong one. He was probably told to attack a new report on climate attribution but got addled. He & people around him are morons. BTW, both NAS studies are excellent.
Not once has the Wall Street Journal published an editorial on #climatechange that acknowledged the definitive science that humans are changing the #climate, while publishing countless editorials rejecting, ignoring, or misrepresenting that science. This is just one more of those.
It's an outrage that we have to suffer from these wildfires, says the man and his political party responsible for making suffering from wildfires worse.
Every #climate scientist today to every elected official: Dammit it, we told you so for decades and you ignored us. You reap what you sow, and you sowed carbon dioxide. This is what we're reaping today.
The impacts of #climate change, from rising seas to worsening #droughts and floods to #wildfires and massive #air-quality health threats will be widespread, ultimately affecting everyone on the planet. This is today's widespread and dangerous air-quality because of massive Canadian wildfires.
Donald Trump says we can't afford to let China have all the data centers ("this incredible new Technology"), yet he's caused the US to abandon EVs and renewable energy technology to China -- actual technologies that benefit humanity and could drive our economy forward.
Case in point: the new Trumpian lead for the next National Climate Assessment is literally a #climate denier, disputing the most basic science fact about #climatechange. This is Stalin-like science.
This photo includes every single living human being at the time (July 21, 1969), except for astronaut Michael Collins, who took the picture.
As the tensions on the shrinking Colorado River rise (as the river flows fall), a reminder of how we address #water rights issues.
IT'S COMING. The advanced reading copy of "When the Well is Dry: How Water Fuels Violence and Shapes Peace" has arrived on my doorstep! The book will be released in early November. #water Pre-sales are important! You can get it for 30% off here, with code CHALLENGE30! thenewpress.org/books/when-t...
In a functioning democracy, these charges would never have been filed. In our currently deeply corrupt kakistocracy, I can only hope they'll be quickly and loudly dismissed.
California's 12-month average temperature is at a record high for the past 130 years. This is #climatechange and it's only going to get worse.
Maybe we should focus our attention and effort on #climate solutions that work (like solar power production), rather than the ones that benefit the fossil fuel companies (like carbon capture projects)? (Thanks to projects.propublica.org/why-carbon-c... for the article and graphic.)
Let me be explicit. The massive heat waves we're seeing around the world more extreme and frequent due to human-caused #climatechange. And these heat waves are going to continue to worsen because of our failure to reduce carbon pollution. Just one of the many costs of #climate change.
Once upon a time when you traveled to a foreign country, you got a pretty cool little stamp in your passport that was a history of your travels. Not any longer.
Dear media, before reporting that the fence going up around the Reflecting Pool is normal procedure for the 250th celebration, know that there was NO fence there for the Bicentennial. It's to hide Trump's algae disaster.
I know that in this era of clickbait it is impossible to stop BS headlines line this, but they never fail to make my brain spasm for a while. It's not aliens. It's never aliens.
On this day in 1969, the Cuyahoga River caught fire, helping to ignite a nationwide environmental movement to clean up our waters. (This photo is from the 1952 fire, just one of many previous times pollutants on the river burned.) #water
In the classic 1880s Dutch book "Max Havelaar" about the corruption by King William III and his government is a line relevant to the current corruption of Trump and his family: "and that yonder more than 30 million of your subjects are mistreated and sucked dry in your name."
