Shit/Post Punner. Mostly gacha free. Robots and dudes in spandex are cool. Freelance localization person, technically (Trails through Daybreak [proofreader]; Super Robot Wars Y [editor]). He/Him.
Blade Runner The visual and audio design of this movie was immaculate, so I really wish I liked it more, but it just fell sort of flat for me. Parts of it are really good, but it didn't really have me grabbed. Ah well.
Saros I had fun with it overall, but I wish it was better. Severely hindered by how there's just a handful of "good" weapons which makes the game feel kind of dull eventually and means the RNG can feel unpleasant at times. Enemy and boss design is also kind of whatever, so it wears out its welcome.
Backrooms I think aesthetically this movie is really cool, with lots of cool direction, set design, and sound design. The problem is I think on the whole it's just kind of boring; it has a tendency to drag stuff out including exposition. And then the back stretch is really... eh. It's fine.
Obsession It's rare that a movie makes me as tense as this one did, wow. I was basically constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next despite its fairly simple(?) premise. I do think the last stretch feels a bit...something, but it also escalated up to it impressively.
Hell or High Water Not bad, but I watched it without subtitles so half the dialogue was lost on me. I probably would've liked it more otherwise.
Mega Man ZX The stage and boss design are really solid in this game for the most part, and it plays wonderfully—but it's held down severely by how awful navigation and backtracking is. As I played, I went from "wow, this game is really good" to "man this is a good game held back by some real BS".
Among Us (TV) Honestly, pretty good. Not much of the humor got more than a sensible chuckle out of me, but it was still fun. The drama was unexpectedly compelling toward the back half, meanwhile, and it struck a pretty good comedy/drama balance overall, though the first half was kind of just okay.
Looking up a playthrough online, it seems the play order is enforced. Though there's apparently a mod to do Reincarnation on PC (that apparently requires Seventh Lair? which is cheap and well worth buying anyway, but yeah)
Mega Man Zero 4 Frustrating game because it's such a giant step back from Zero 3. And most of it's from conscious decisions: the Z Knuckle is lame, the Cyber-elf system is whatever, basically the parts being behind a tedious crafting system is bad. Also stages and bosses are OK but worse than 3's.
Fargo Didn't like this quiiite as much as its reputation suggests, but it was a good comedy of errors with some strong direction, and I like that it was pretty easy to follow the somewhat convoluted scheme (since the plot was singularly focused on it).
the thing about this movie that will stick with me forever is the scene where tom hanks wore pajamas with a barely legally distinct gundam on them
Big Speaking of movies that you shouldn't overthink, this one's good, but there's a lot of stuff that you just kind of have to accept and one thing that you REALLY shouldn't focus on Fun movie otherwise though!
Green Book I do think it's sort of confused in its theming, and I can sort of understand why someone might think it's very disagreeable, but I liked it. Most of it's good stuff as long as you don't overanalyze it; it's pretty funny and feel-good, and it has a good sense of escalation.
Too many people ignoring production order in favor of chronological order lately 🙄
Mega Man Zero 3 Ah okay now I get why I remember why I loved this game as a kid but not so much 1 and 2. Game is so much better than them. Lots of cool new features, solid stage design and bosses, nice presentation, plot is better, localization is good this time... Great game.
The Shawshank Redemption Fantastic movie. It's hard to pinpoint any specific reason it's so good, as basically every factor worked together to make it such; great script, great score, great acting, great themes, etc. Don't have a lot to say, but I loved it.
Mega Man Zero 2 It's still alright. Better than Zero 1 in several ways such as much reduced grinding, more stage variety, and better presentation, but I can't say I care for the stage or boss design, and I'm sort of mixed on the Chain Rod as a gimmick.
