I just received a lovely bit of fan mail from a young reader in Virginia, which was posted MORE THAN A YEAR AGO! Not sure if the US postal system is at fault, or if it's spent a year sitting in a cupboard at my publisher's office, but that poor boy is getting a reply sharpish. #KidLit #KidLitUK

Mrs Bell and I sat our two boys (aged 14 and 11) down to watch Cool Runnings for the first time this week. I'd not seen it in almost 20 years but it still holds up, and they both loved it.

I had an amazing three days visiting schools in Enfield, with back-to-back author talks and story-building workshops. Met hundreds of super enthusiastic and imaginative kids, who really threw themselves into it. Happy World Book Day! #KidLit #KidLitUK
