"Besides, the stainless steel construction made the flux dispersal-" just something I drew #TenchiGalaxy
Dragonite. Dragonite Dragonite, I think Dragonite is an awesome evolution from Dragonair because it bucks the assumption that each evolution has to be bigger, and share similar colors and builds. Also it's so happy, and I love how close it looks to Charizard. Also how deceptively stronger it can be.
Moltres is my favorite of the three birds. All because Charizard was my first fave Pokémon as a kid, and just because it was fire-type, it became my favorite. Would I have a different fave between them if it wasn't for Charizard? Most likely. Also, this pose was difficult!
Wanted to draw something the day of getting funded, but it looks like I got it finished after the stretch goal, what can you do? I'm whiplashed how things exploded so fast with the Tenchi Galaxy kickstarter, you are all unreal!
Ka Bu To Ka Bu To Ka Bu To - warrior! Love this sprite, probably the most unique for Kabuto.
cover art to @thevanishedpeople.bsky.social and Koven Wei's newest song, decided on a classic Hiroshi Nagai style for the background, and I hope Nagai san doesn't mind! Loved doing it. check out the music after a successful escape from prison. youtu.be/1SYPldhVpMY
Porygon was hard to draw, I was looking forward to it, but it became a bigger challenge than I thought it would be. Anyway, it's been almost 30 years, give Porygon a break. It was Pikachu. (iykyk)
Gyarados! Love Gyarados, undoubtedly one of the best sprites in Blue, I wanted to take time on this one and make it as cool as the sprite, hope I did! Gyarados as a concept is awesome. Love both Magikarp and Gyarados as an evolutionary Pokémon line.
anyone else sympathize with Magikarp because the game and anime keep trying to enforce how "pathetic" it is?
I thought Pinsir was cool and underrated. Especially when Heracross came along, my guy being turned into a villain, why? Wish bug types were stronger in Gen 1. I wanted to post only the right one, you know, more biblically accurate Pinsir.
Delectabuzz! "UahufhsuhfbblbkbblbblblblblblblblbBblblblBLBLBllblblblblbalbblbblblablbbbububaubaubluulaulabualubabuububuablaulbblblublbulubublu!" - Electabuzz
all the way until Gen 2/3 I thought Kangaskhan would be cool as a 50%/50% Female Male, because I thought it was more like a seahorse where maybe the male takes care of the offspring as much as the female, but it's okay. Sad that the baby was never its own Pokémon. (Let's let go of the Cubone theory)
When I drew Rhyhorn (one of my favorites), I thought "what if I drew more?" Well, here we are at Rhydon finally. Not quite done yet, but it's satisfying to close the gap from the very first one I drew for this marathon.
alternate rendition more to Ken Sugimori's style, but I think it doesn't do it justice. Anyway, two Haunters!
Haunter is my favorite Pokémon. I don't know if I did it enough justice but its sprite for Red/Blue is the best. So scary! Love it.
To close the circle, we're filling in all the gaps from the Pokédex list, therefore Gosu is next. What a sprite, man. I was so confused seeing it on Red/Blue as a kid because this was not what I was expecting! Gastly is cool.
Blastoise! I drew Blastoise with a bit more of a proportional pose, maybe I could have made it lean its lower part further like the sprite, but I opted to be strict with its shell and that it can't flex.
yeah, I know all I did was copy Sugimori's artwork, but the pose was so similar, and I wanted to challenge myself in some way. Not to do a carbon copy but see if I can do a good job with the same pose.
