Sleeping on the job, on camera, in front of a global television audience, at cabinet meetings, summits of world leaders, state funerals and sporting events. Is this a great country or what? Sheesh, embarrassing! 25th Amendment time, folks. Are we waiting for him to keel over, live in prime time?
Not-brave prediction: The sprawling, beautifully photographed and acted swords-and-sandals epic “The Odyssey” will get a Best Picture nom. The nearly three-hour action-adventure movie, shot entirely on IMAX 70mm film, is like nothing else in theaters this year (so far). Greek mythology, Supersized.
Hello, 25th Amendment. It’s time. Our leader is straight-up cuckoo. He says and does wackadoodle stuff EVERY SINGLE DAY, without fail, and he falls asleep during televised cabinet meetings, televised meetings with world leaders and televised state funerals. Trump is absolutely unfit to serve.
I had a blast playing with Swan City Jazz Project and guest guitarist Phill Fest last night at the AGB Museum of Art last night in Lakeland, Florida. We played a mix of bossa jazz, including tunes by Phill and his dad, late great Brazilian-born pianist/composer Manfredo Fest, and jazz standards.

Is God Is (R, 99 minutes) Fraternal twins do the darndest things. Southern gothic revenge thriller and road trip, with touches of horror and even dark folk tale, due to a kind of mythic-story structure and intermittent narration-style voiceovers. Toni Morrison meets Tarantino. Fresh!
Love seeing this. Sad that despite the nationwide protests & marches & lawsuits against Trump/MAGA corruption, criminality, ethics violations, greed, incompetence & Constitution trampling … nothing changes. Trump remains in power, his GOP pols & red caps still bow to him. Something’s gotta give.
APEX (Netflix, 2026; R, 95 minutes) — Deliverance down under, with action figure Charlize as the Last Girl, and extreme wilderness sports. Bonus: Cannibalism. People who eat people are the nuttiest people in the world. Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, Eric Bana. Baltasar Kormákur, dir. 3/5 stars
