…they found that stirring the casserole merely released more of the Gatorade™ scent…
Closest I've ever come to it, was the Levenger L-Tech Stealth, similar black hex brass barrel, but with swappable stylus tips for screens / tech (one fabric, one silicon).
Glad I took this pic, I keep being able to re-use it. Here's what I tend to have inked, and carry daily. As you can see, big fan of the Iroshizuku / Wearingeul / Diamine inks.
Post a perfect album from the 90's that isn't Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice in Chains. Well, THAT'S easy… @kayhanley.bsky.social
There are many of us recovering hipsters that are using fountain pens / overelaborate coffee preparation / mechanical wristwatches / home mixology / ukulele orchestras to be less symptomatic, or at least less publicly fastidious. Welcome!
Not sure where it had originated, there's an apocryphal story that it originated with Welsh archers, showing the French that they still had their bowfingers, not that there's ever been any documentation to prove it. But yeah, a good old "Sod off, ya wanker…", often combined with a blown raspberry…
No gel pen recs, but I can highly recommend the Esties, the Jowo nibs are smooth, and the cushion cap seals up nicely, minimizing any ink evaporation. I've got a Nouveau Blue in F, stays in my regular rotation.
Nicely done. I'll see your pair, and raise you another vice. La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro #filthyhabit Sailor 1911 L "Cthulhu" #fountainpen Studio Underd0g 01 "Guacamole" #studiounderd0g …any scotch will clearly have to wait until after work hours.
Speaking as a recent recruit to the '…watches, fountain pens, and/or menswear…' unit, the sub $10K will prove challenging. So many precious lie just outside that threshold. Of the three, pens are easiest, then menswear, and only THEN look at a watch or five, otherwise, you'll blow it in one go.
Currently using the Galen Five-Slot pen case for my EDC pens. It's a very firm leather, smooth and waxy, and should outlast me, even with daily usage. Each pen gets its own full-length sheath within the case, they're a little snug for the larger pens I favor, but it's still in the break-in period.
"BEXORG! Fetch the Illudium Q-36 Space Modulator! The test subjects are regaining consciousness! They'll disrupt GROK's control of the President!!"
I have it, and it's good. Their ink for "Carmilla", while less of a color I'd use, has a removable 'Carmilla' label, revealing the 'Mircalla' label underneath. Might have to buy a bottle just for the inside joke.
If I had that much lying around, it'd be much better spent on a shiny new wristwatch - just as technologically archaic, while much less Nerf-gun looking. Well, maybe not "new", at least this century…
Here's what I'm carrying in the laptop pack today… A pumice stone gets most ink-stains off your fingers, most folks will flinch at borrowing a fountain, when they wouldn't think twice about snatching a ball-point from you, and don't try to fill from the last of the well, buy another and top it off…
Order now, and you'll receive "The Director's Cut" at no additional charge;
I've always used a soapstone, or pumice stone. They usually sell them for removing calluses and the like. Takes that top inky layer off in seconds. You can still be an ink-stained wretch, just don't look like one… Plus, it's a rock, the one I've had has lasted decades.
I almost miss the early Web days, now, my inbox is so full of "…we're not joking, buy our stuff…" notes. Had exactly one old-style deadpan e-mail, it was good and brief, apologies for inflicting;
My 1st-gen (2000) Ford Focus - Sony™ edition came with a carry case for the removable face plate (remember those?) and a bass-check CD, for annoying the neighbors with the ½-trunk kicker…
Still have my 'generic IT answer shirt', these days I save it for 'innovation presentations'. Geez, I miss ThinkGeek…
New Palace Bakery, long before dawn, just like last year, and all the years before…
