it's a good design although I wish we lived in the timeline where we got African-American lady liberty.
Just finished @finnlongman.com's The Wolf And His King, terrific book. I quite thoroughly enjoyed it; have a soft spot for queer readings/re-tellings of old or traditional stories. Did I mention the book itself is *gorgeous*? They tell you not to judge a book by its cover but how about the binding?
The authors misrepresent the YIMBY argument (whom they call 'deregulationists') by saying that YIMBYs think that the housing crisis was caused by regulations. That is not true; it is caused by an acute housing *shortage*. The regulations simply make building more housing harder.
incredible how they can say that the simulation slows housing cost rises, and then turn around and say "but that won't solve the affordability crisis"! The claim is that developers won't build more units even with upzoning and increased density, but they fail to consider policy to support density.
Long story short - don't complain about the dime, it's a beautiful coin and I am stoked to have Liberty back on our coinage!!! The Half Dollar (Original design thank fuck) is great. Because again what they did to the SemiQ quarters should be a crime. and putting Trump on a coin *is* a crime.
Final two of the original SemiQ quarter designs. Compare to the ugly as sin designs we actually got.
1. This design was approved in 2024 and although we could have gotten a Black lady liberty on the dime the reverse side (i.e. with this eagle) was common to both proposals. 2. The real crime is the quarters, which should have had Civil Rights images and instead got replaced by ugly designs
