Interesting tidbit from panel about needing to shorten book by 10% note from editor and they opted to try shortening every sentence versus cutting a scene or scene. Said it helped make the book crisper and was a good note. Partial alt of panel description as old phone and can’t access save button.

Admittedly it isn’t much but I threw some poppy seeds out front last year along with some native grass and plant seeds and had some things turn up this year. Ground was not really prepped so it was a ‘just cause have seeds in hand’ thing as I start to contemplate an actual yard beyond weed mowing.

Five or six California Golden poppy plants have sprouted and flowered amongst my dried out weed whacked yard.

Born to Afghan refugees in New York City, Wahab was raised in Fremont and has a doctorate in social work from the University of Southern California. She worked in non-profit organizations and consulting before entering politics. Upon being elected to the Hayward City Council in 2018, she became one of the first Afghan Americans elected to public office in the United States. She was elected to the California State Senate in 2022.

In 2024, Wahab was named Assistant Majority Leader and currently serves as chair of the Senate Business, Professions & Economic Development Committee. She has announced her candidacy for Congress in California's 14th congressional district in 2026.

Drove back via 5 and it’s so green! Also way too many fruit and nut trees are blooming. Kind of worried about this weather system the next few days and if it ends up sleety will knock the buds off. I forgot another treat at Flyer’s is the novelty Smarties. 😄

Sweet! Long day at work but caught up with college buddies as one is visiting from overseas and is making the rounds. Then came home to find a lurking package at my door to discover Arcane’s Jinx’s Fishbones has arrived. Xmas prezzie to self from sdcc. insighteditions.com/products/arc...

Generative AI tools have also been shown to perpetuate biases against both women and non-white people.

“The fact that the technology is being used by the same company that provides Tasers to the department is alarming enough,” Foundation for Liberating Minds in Oklahoma City cofounder Aurelius Francisco told the AP.

Critics also argue that the tool could be used to introduce deniability and make officers less accountable in case mistakes were to fall through the cracks. According to a recent investigation by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Draft One “seems deliberately designed to avoid audits that could provide any accountability to the public.”
