5) Ceramic floor Tiles - the best option! You can get sample tiles at DIY stores for free or cheap. Make sure they are big enough for your pet to lie on. Place in the freezer overnight. These stay cool for HOURS.
*alternative : freeze food containers and put peas in the water! Or other fresh veggies/banana and apple are favourites. This encourages them to forage and keep cool while doing so. Or you can leave them unfrozen like so
2) Keep a fan blowing through the day, for airflow but NOT directly onto your pets 3) Freeze plastic bottles of water overnight and remove labels. Freeze plastic or ceramic containers too that are freezer safe * put these in the cage during the day and change out throughout the day if you can
1) Keep all curtains/blinds and windows CLOSED, air out when darker, cooler, and overnight. If the sun is on your home all day, you can get a reflector window panel that is removable with ease. Tin foil can be used as a cheap alternative, but is delicate!

Last night, we suddenly lost Gigi. He was young and full of life, so this has been an immense shock to us both. He was one of the rescues we took on from a hoarder situation, and it's been amazing seeing him develop from an anxious mess to a cheeky sod who loved giving kisses.
