Um...it isn't supposed to be either of those groups. It's supposed to be the voters in his district who sent him to Washington. Are these people really so out of touch that they forgot they're not the base?

The bottom line: "At the end of the day, Hakeem's got to realize what his real base is," the third centrist lawmaker said.

"The people who are going to be with him, not the people who are going to go after him."

The audacity to frame this kind of obstruction as some sort of new, previously unheard of tactic for centrists is mind boggling. We watched Machin and Sinema torpedo their own party's legislative agenda because they couldn't stand the idea free preschool or child care subsidies.

Said the second centrist House Democrat who spoke to Axios anonymously: "If we have a tight enough majority, you're going to see a group of moderates do exactly the same thing: 'We won't vote for X unless we get Y.'"
A senior House Democrat, asked about the possibility of the left moving collectively to force concessions, similarly said "you'll see Blue Dogs" do the same — referring to the centrist Blue Dog Coalition.

I just found out that this was the Care Bears' villain. I always figured they were helping kids fight emotional disregulation, or at worst, like a grumpy lizard or something, but apparently they were doing battle with a faceless lich the whole time.

This red-eyed, faceless ghoul is apparently called, "No Heart." He presumably traded his heart for demonic power and life beyond death.

So I’ve been on my own esoteric journey, reading a lot of books on the history of liberalism, trying to understand what excited and inspired people in the past, and how liberals overcame crises like the one we’re in. And reading one of those books, “The Lost History of Liberalism” by Helena Rosenblatt, it felt like an epiphany — that this was a piece of the puzzle.
