Well, very pleased with this. Roast pork belly with cloudberry sauce on stir fried kale, bacon and garlic on cheesy polenta. Polenta went lumpy on me sadly, first time that's happened to me. Best pork I've cooked though, I think
Truth, also just cos here is this magnificent toad my brother in law found in the woodpile about ten days ago
This beautiful man is nobody's enemy! Except maybe shrews.. (Here he is at my granddad's in Italy)
Made Hunan-style (Lamb) Chili Cabbage stir fry and bear's paw tofu for my brother as he is leaving here tomorrow. Good success, Cabbage was delicious. Tofu sauce was excellent, will alter tofu cooking method for next time I do this one.
Made bread again, got the little bubbles on the crust this time! Pretty much perfect now for the swiss style bread I want. Not as pretty as from a real bakery but very happy
Some devilled egg salad, always makes me think of my dad. No bscon bits though, which he always added but I didn't have any bacon at hand. I miss you, Daddie. May 1st he died, which seems very appropriate somehow.
Very pleased with this. Edges a bit thick, bit too much scorch on the kale but tasty crust, thin still with some chew
Devilled eggs, lambs lettuce, bacon bits and vinaigrette. One of my dad's old classics and first time i've made it myself sinde he died
It's not been super cold this winter but been snowy and just a bit below zero long enough that the sea froze nicely anyway
Not the neatest bowl in the world but this was the best thing i've made in some time. The cabbage maybe ended uo making the soup a bit bitter after a bit, the cheap bit of ox cheek i got on sale was fantastic braised in the soup though. Lanzhou beef noodle soup
Did a pretty kickass, if I dare say that, red curry from scratch with garlic flatbread
