Two analytics companies. Two data policies. Google: “...measure the effectiveness of advertising... and personalize content and ads...” Plausible: “Your data is not used for advertising, profiling or monetization.” Privacy isn’t a setting. It starts with the business model.
While indie hacker Twitter debated whether SaaS is dying, our July: • $22.2k in new MRR, our best month ever • MRR up 28.5% year over year • 20,183 paying subscribers AI may have made products easy to clone. Ours has been open source and free to clone since 2019. The code was never the moat.
It's always nice when someone describes your product exactly the way you hoped they'd experience it. 🤍
Most people treat low scroll depth like a failure signal. It's not. It depends on what the page is meant to do. Long blog post with low scroll depth and low time on page? Your intro probably doesn't match the headline. Blog index with low scroll depth + low time on page?
You can now add little notes to your traffic chart! 📝 Spike on a specific date? At a specific time? Or a drop somewhere? Just add a quick note so you remember why it happened. Mark product launches, campaigns, SEO changes, incidents, etc., directly on the chart. ✅ Available with all plans
Location reports just got better. Now you can see bounce rate and visit duration for each country, region, and city. Not just where your traffic comes from, but how engaged those visitors actually are.
A bunch of referral sources that used to show up as plain text now have proper icons. Small change, but it makes your traffic sources list much easier to scan. ✨
Most SaaS companies hide their limitations. We just made a page listing ours. It's not anti-marketing, it's clarity. Plausible is built for a specific customer and there are some things that we'd never do: - Individual user tracking - Session recordings - Retargeting etc.
Subdomains are now visible in the Pages report. If you're tracking blog.yoursite, app.yoursite, etc., you can now break them down by URL and see exactly where visitors are landing. One script. One dashboard. Unified sessions across main domain and subdomains. ✓ Working on your existing data.
Plausible has supported keyboard shortcuts for years. The custom date range calendar was one of the few places where the experience wasn't fully keyboard-first. That's fixed now.
Plausible User Journeys lets you analyze entire sections of your website, not just individual URLs. Looking at blog? Choose "📁/blog" to see visitor paths across all blog posts combined, not each post separately. Or choose a specific blog post directly. Your pick. Same for /docs, /products, etc.
AI assistants traffic just got its own channel in Plausible! Includes ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Phind, and Grok (previously under organic search). Cherry on top: Works retroactively with your historical data. Enjoy!
We added a free ad cost calculator to help you measure what matters. It also serves as a useful extension to those tracking ad campaigns in Plausible. Input your numbers: → Ad spend → Clicks → Impressions → Conversions Get instant metrics:
🆕 Transferring sites in Plausible just got easier. All transfer options are now in one place. Move your site to: → another team → your personal sites → another Plausible account No more hunting around. Quick, straightforward, done.
1,000 visitors hit your pricing page. 200 signed up. Funnels tell you 800 dropped off. But User Journeys shows you where those 800 went instead. Pick a starting point that you're most curious about, and start exploring the journeys your visitors take from there. Live now in the Explore tab 💜→
Just when we thought of posting about 25K GitHub stars, we saw we are closer to 27K! 🌟 25K had happened just 2 weeks ago. Even though it took us several months to go from 23K to 24K to 25K. This puts us in the top ~0.005%, among millions of public repos on GitHub.
ChatGPT traffic jumped 4.5× starting May 7. Signups from ChatGPT: up 2.6×. What changed: they brought back inline branded links in answers. Now when ChatGPT mentions a brand, people can actually click through. Did your site see a similar impact?
User Journeys is here, which was our most requested major feature ever! Now, you'll be able to see exactly how visitors use your site. How they navigate from page-to-page, reach goals, where they drop off, and conversion rates for each path. ✅ Zero setup ✅ Works on all your historical data
The same funnel can have two different conversion rates. One counts only direct paths (step 1 → 2 → 3). The other includes visitors who browsed other pages or did other activity in between. That changes your conversion rate significantly. The good news: You can measure both in Plausible.

Cool to see leading companies like Prezly using Plausible to publish industry reports, in a completely privacy-preserving way. That's one use of Plausible that wasn't on our 2026 bingo card. 😄
Most sites with Google Analytics are transferring 12+ GB/month they don't need to. That's slowing down the very thing you're trying to measure. The GA script is 135kB (gzipped). But with 100K monthly visitors, you transfer: • 12.9 GB/month • With GTM: 17.2 GB/month
"Get started" is probably the most overused button label on the web. It tells you nothing about what happens when you click. "Start free trial" answers the important part: this is a trial, not a commitment. So we changed it. Result: Trial signups increased by 84% in 3 months, while
ChatGPT has overtaken Reddit and X as a traffic source for PR newsrooms, and is now the #6 referrer! While Google still dominates by a huge margin. The web’s distribution layer is changing fast. 👉 Data from Prezly, after analyzing thousands of sites using Plausible.
You trust the numbers you see on your GA dashboard. But a huge chunk of your traffic never made it there because people declined the consent banner. Exactly how much? The real numbers will blow your mind. For a site with: - 100K monthly reported visitors by GA, and
If your “conversion rate calculator” is: → a Google Sheet → with 7 tabs → and 3 broken formulas we made something for you. 3 dead-simple calculators. No setup. No clutter. Just answers: plausible.io/conversion-...
Why does Facebook show up 12 times in your campaign report when you only ran 3 ads? Inconsistent UTM parameters. One person writes "Facebook" with a capital F. Another uses "facebook" lowercase. A third accidentally adds a space. contd.
Now you can create UTM links directly in Plausible 😄 plausible.io/utm-builder
