he/him • 3D artist at @tinyroargames.bsky.social • in my own time working on "Heart Drive", a driving 'n' fishing game • inst:
the effect is projected by a decal, and divided by three layers. I added some chrommatic abberation for artsy fartsy purposes, but also to emulate light bending at the edge of leaves
a few weeks ago I saw some very peculiar tree shadows on the wall of my house, which had very visible layers - I had to recreate it!
Heart Drive got nominated along other great projects at the German Dev Days ✨😊
lighting and material test I'm trying to replace some pure gradient texturing with more handpainted textures, but I need to make them generic so I can reuse them a lot
not many posts from my side here lately haha, but I'm working on so much cool shit for Heart Drive! anyways, here's the boring new idea of a VHS menu
HEART DRIVE got nominated by @derdcp.bsky.social for Best Prototype! 🫠🎉 #derDCP
still has to be tested out with real gameplay a lot. I'd hate to create an effect players will despise
experimenting with a CRT shader that emulates more the VIBE than anything technical correct 😅
I love the research part for art so much! always learning so much about tech/plants/buildings/history/people :D
I'm turning 30 soon, which means ofc I build a generator so you can create your very own version of me! :D -> polygonas.itch.io/build-a-jonas playable in browser, but only on PC (cause responsive UI is hell)
"All You Can Steal" is a 60-second-heist game @nadtsu.bsky.social and me worked on for #GlobalGameJam last week!🫳🖼️ you can download it now via Itch.io :) -> polygonas.itch.io/all-you-can-...

finally got around adding different village LOADOUTS slots🙏 no more destroying a village just to experiment :) #EmberlandsDesktopVillage #indiegames
would be so funny to make a game gender selection, but it's a range value
I know I'm finally a proper game developer because I have like seven game engine versions and one to many source control programs on my computer
made made that much pixel art in my life, but in WarioWare its so much fun
here's a small behind-the-scenes of the project. you can make graphics, animate them, make music Mario-Paint-style and then do the whole programming! it was pure magic for me back then 🪄
I don't know how many people know the *fantastic* DS game "Wario Ware: DIY" where you can make your own 3-second games? my very first video games arose from it, and even 15 years later I could make an Into The Emberlands Wario Ware game with it, on an DS emulator
this is how the tables look right now. they don't do a BAD job looking like tables - but hard edges are not really my style, and they suffer from "I have no time for this model right now"
this table uses a very quickly painted tilable texte (VERY quickly 😅) I more or less just slapped over it. Nothing revolutionary, but I need to find more art approaches that let me cut corners with style and more reuse stuff.
looking into some texturing approaches to slap some more colors onto a model that'd look too flat when I texture them only with gradients
thanks for all your lovely feedback ❤️🌺 can‘t wait to show you more of our strange new game.. 👀 store.steampowered.com/app/4162340/...
