The Pomegranate County Irregulars
@pomcountyirregs
It's a band! Playing music! Full name The Pomegranate County Irregulars. Look for us at major streamers or Bandcamp. You want a genre to file us under. Indie—we do what we want—Pop—because we do what we want.
I am not impressed. Okay, I did expect a de facto “Who?” so maybe a smidge. The Alt text includes some commentary, oh hell, ridicule along with articulating the results shown by the screen grab. Did I follow up and provide information so their database was more complete. No, no, and gawd no!
Still no album in mind, but I did think of a possible title, “Ruts and Rituals.” Working on a song called “Popcorn”. 16 bar melody written. Sketched a chord progression in iReal (Tenor sax part shown) and recorded piano comp, lead, and 48 bar piano & sax solos. Sax, not good. Back at it Friday.
The August single (release date July 30) is in motion. Time to Master the Double Cross backed with Whiskey Runner, lightweight Raymond Chandler and Mac the Knife, respectively. The cover:
If you see this, post a pic from your device with not explanation. (I still think I should provide Alt-text.)
I think we're ready to set up the July single. Just made the art.
Tenace “Lone Wolf” McBall “Ball, James Ball, on His Majesty Secret Service, on assignment and away from The Court of St. James”
If this isn't Pure PCI. The March single arrives at the streamers 9pm PST tonight. One side positive, the other, not. Our brand: Embracing the Ambivalence Gravity Won't Win b/w Big Blue Nose
How am I wasting this first Friday of 2026? So glad I pretended you asked. Some early morning video. Some mid-morning song starting.
So, there's this short story by Mark Twain about the humorous horror of a poem so catchy, listeners become compelled to repeat ever and ever. People, I opened up that Pandora's trap set by Mr. Clemens and I couldn't escape. Coming February:
Here comes 2026. First setup, a January 2 release. A swingin' version of "Down by the Riverside" and a simple arrangement of an anti-war song adapted from folk song "Every Night When the Sun Goes In".
@muz4now.com is playing via live stream now, started just after 7pm (Eastern US time) www.youtube.com/live/3KlEQxJ... #MusicSky #PianoSky #ImprovSky #OriginalMusicSkyAn
December 1. Album 12. Might have a listen party when it's at Bandcamp. Maybe week after next.
Oct 1: Bell Book & Candle b/w Mariposa Reina. One narrator is paralyzed by dilemmas and the other just bugged out of town. Nov 3: Fly Away (Lecture) b/w One Time One Time. Professor Dangloss has a can't miss first lecture. On the B-side, a conspiracy to murder. At Bandcamp soon.
In Southern California along the coast in late August, we can get rain. This morning's clouds suggest a real possibility for today.
September 2 for "Dark Corners," an EP with 3 originals and a Paul Simon cover. The originals are at Bandcamp now: pomegranatecountyirregulars.bandcamp.com/album/dark-c... #MusicSky #OriginalMusicSky
Saturday morning, putting off writing lyrics to a really good music bed, so it's setting up future art. First draft for the August single: (Re-post after deletion because, oops, forgot the Alt text I had prepared.)
Here's the cover art for the July single. Tentative wide release date: July 1, 2025 #MusicianSky #MusicSky
In the past 24 hours, I selected the B-side, finished the tracings, colored the art, laid out the cover, and rethought and revised some of yesterday's choices. Well, it may not achieve mediocrity, but it is done.
April 17: Album release (it’s now at streamers*). The Serfville Monad and the Pluperfect People Tidal artist link: tidal.com/artist/9027067 *not Spotify (ptui)
Just sent this EP to the distributor. Wish date for release, February 25. Three songs so we call it a tringle. "Your Call Is Important to Us and Other Fantastic Tales". Tracks: Ballad of the Levellers, Hold Music Twenty-three, and Billionaire. #Indie #MusicianSky #MusicSky #Pop
Cover of the current EP in Bandcamp. And we shall speak no further of this incident as well.
More from the Spirograph simulator program I wrote.
Let's see, let's see. What did I do today. Wrote a program to simulate a Spirograph. 720 teeth, 1000.0 radius for the fixed ring. This is the result for an inner gear with 375 teeth and 789.0 radius. Draw point is 700.0 from the inner gear's center.
Tomorrow sees a new single from us at the streamers*. Technically, the February single, but it has currency in a few hours. "Out of This Place b/w Hard Times" And, there is Bandcamp for immediate gratification. *At the S-jerks, March 25. #Musician #MusicianSky #IndiePop
On January 13, 2025, the world can stream the recap of our A-sides for 2024. (Unless that world-person chooses to not give us a three-thousandths of a cent by using Spotify (ptui)) #MusicSky #IndiePop #ThePomegranateCountyIrregulars #Goodbye2024
So there I was, a few days after the US Presidential election, free associating on the guitar and playing maybe a song or two like my “Thunder in the Valley” and I looked down. My pick was showing evidence of my anger.
After I've stuffed myself with turkey at my brothers, I'll post the two singles to Bandcamp for early access and it'll be a 4 song EP for $1. (And a late March EP release at Spotify (ptui).)
