how my taxes are spent in a country where sanitation workers with no safety gear die in septic tanks

sorry to bring a ss from there over here but this is super interesting to me because i have three dogs, right? A came first. A had kibble out all the time, a free feeder, and she self-regulated very very well. Then came B. same system. B was also totally fine. Then came C - C is an eater.

It seems obvious to me that “just eating too much” is the basis for bigger questions like “why are our brains making us dramatically overeat?” Brains handle complex regulations like body temp and breathing automatically, but hunger and body fat set points are manual?

besides potentially saving the health care system i think the most profound effect of ozempic has been the complete dismantling of the "body positivity" movement and the whole body type argument. they were actually just eating too much lmao

Imo its because we evolved to flourish under scarcity and our bodies aren't evolved enough to solve for caloric over-abundance. Literally our lobster is too buttery.

Like, my fucking cat knows how to not overeat. She’s a free feeder. She always has food available. She stops when she is full, despite being a cat, because her body is able to regulate this. You’re saying we aren’t as evolved as cats?
