We have two Adirondack chairs from Costco that were getting to be in a sorry state, so a summer project for us was refurbishing them. Ray replaced the arms on one, reinforced both of them and sanded them. Then we painted them sunflower yellow and green apple. They look much cheerier now.
Took the dog to walk a new neighbourhood tonight, and look at this gem of a house.
Nothing to see here; no worries at all. (From a Globe and Mail article on AI.)
Went to an a cappella opera show at the Fringe. Now enjoying an evening cappuccino.
Super delicious pistachio pesto lasagna. (Recipe is behind a paywall.)
I took a three-day watercolour class this week. I definitely need to work on making better trees.
Does not care that it’s 37 degrees Celsius. Still wants to be outside.
Yesterday, our mutt Jelly Bean taught himself how to open the bread box. He enjoyed a snack of bread and hamburger buns. Acted super proud of himself when we showed him the empty bags we found on his bed.
After 8 months with us, this asshat has become a food thief. List of things he’s stolen in the last 10 days: 1. Pound of butter and bag of nutritional yeast 2. Piece of carrot cake right out of hubby’s lap 3. Three quarters of a loaf of rye bread 4. A bag of fish that was thawing in the sink
Since one of our late dog Beckett’s favourite things was ice cream, we took Jelly Bean to Sweet Tops on her gotcha day. JB got to honour the sister he never met.
Our dog decided to make himself lunch while we were out today. He pulled a pound of butter and a bag of nutritional yeast off the counter.
Caprese salad, but with cherries instead of tomatoes. It’s tasty!
I love a pretty building, and this one’s just a couple blocks from home. Ukrainian Holy Eucharist Church. We are blessed to have a lot of pretty churches like this spread across some of Winnipeg’s older neighbourhoods.
Look at this adorable little Black Forest cake from Jenna Rae Cakes.
We went to Holy Shakes at St. Vital Mall. They have a burger that’s just a big slab of paneer covered in more cheese. It was great. I also had a chocolate pistachio shake. I did not get one of the freak shakes that come with an entire slice of cheesecake on top.
I have a lily! And one of my hostas is about to sprout a flower.
The ultra rare Jelly Bean flower. He’s dug a big hole in the dirt and planted himself there. We will see how long it takes for him to sprout.
