Earth, Wind & Fire’s phenomenal cover of The Beatles’ “Got To Get You Into My Life” always puts me in the greatest mood.
I’m kind of in love with this photo of Liza Minnelli looking so steely and cool on the set of Bob Fosse’s CABARET. Probably because I adore Liza in Bob Fosse’s CABARET.
A personal recommendation from Australia’s greatest film critic, @readandgeek.bsky.social: Paul Mazursky’s AN UNMARRIED WOMAN (1978) was the best film I saw last year that Ryan Coogler or PTA didn’t direct. Jill Clayburgh gives an Oscar-nominated performance for the ages. Amazing, inspiring stuff.
SLAP SHOT is legitimately one of the ten best comedies ever made. A way better ‘70s comedy than ANIMAL HOUSE is. There’s a bedroom conversation between Paul Newman and Melinda Dillion about sexuality and gender that’s so ahead of its time (and hilarious) only a woman could’ve written it.
Favorite discoveries of April 2026: A BETTER TOMORROW (1986) A BETTER TOMORROW II (1987) BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY (1995) DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD (1991)

Totally is! And Ted Danson has one of my favorite noir zingers ever: “I had a dream so boring it woke me up!”
Life is good. Just scored Michael Bay’s THE ROCK on a factory-sealed blu-ray for 89¢. 😂
