My first visit to the Red Lion at Blakey Ridge where the sun was shining and people were sitting outside! As always great pints and great food (eaten before I even thought about a photograph!)!
Visit to the Postgate, Egton Bridge - always fantastic! Friendly welcoming bar staff, food looked excellent, plenty of lovely garden space and right by the train station if you fancy popping from Whitby!
To celebrate Yorkshire Day we’ve headed out for a North York Moors walk (with pub stops of course) - the Horseshoe Hotel at Egton Bridge is our first stop- overall disappointing - didn’t feel very cared for (including the beer)
Found an anvil to put my pint on at my local - The Grapes, Slingsby!
Quick stop at the Horseshoe Inn in Levisham! I haven’t been here for years, perhaps a little too set up for food inside for my taste, but was tidy and welcoming and I can’t fault the lovely view down the whole village from the seats outside! #pub
Saw this interesting ‘functional’ beer today in Morrisons - I did not buy it! 🍺
Hearty pub lunch, after a long walk, at the Middleton Arms, just outside Pickering! Filling lunch, friendly welcome, great pub carpet! #pub
After a walk in/around Cropton Forest we headed for refreshment at The White Swan Inn, Newton-on-Rawcliffe, North York Moors! A traditional pub, in the heart of the village- and helpfully signposted off the footpath behind!
Quick visit to the Brass Castle taproom while we wait for our Chinese takeaway! As always wonderful beers and great service! #taproom
Fabulous evening at the Plough, Fadmoor beer festival! Great drinks, great food, great music!

Our final drink in Bordeaux - at Le Regent Cafe- typical French cafe offering food and drinks and opportunities for people watching 👀 ! #bar
Cafe Brun, Bordeaux - this evening was a lovely venue for Canada v RSA, lots of Belgium beers, Scottish Whiskys and a lovely atmospheric environment- although lots of steps up to the toilet (if you have a long skirt on like me). #pub
The Houses of Parliament, Bordeaux- much nicer than it looked online! Darts, pool, sports tv and a ‘Bedford’ stout called Genesis - which online does seem to suggest it is brewed actually in Bedford! #pub
Cite Du Vin, Bordeaux - after visiting the exhibitions your ticket includes a glass of wine (or two) in the 8th floor Belvédère bar! #wine
The Frog and Rosbif, Bordeaux - settled in to watch the Top 14 rugby final! Nachos, big screens and blue pints (to support the French football World Cup team)! #pub
Air conditioning drew us into Les Berthom, Bordeaux but we stayed for the atmosphere- lovely bar with games, chess and darts! 🎯 #pub
Our first stop for drinks this evening was dictated by the heat and needing to get somewhere cool - we visited Judor - Bar & cave à Cidres, which had a great range of ciders, good fans and really welcoming! #cider

It was great to present our work on nolo in hospitality at the Beeronomics 2026 conference yesterday! Nadine and I decided on co-ord outfits! We were in a session with other great nolo projects and a paper on THC beverages! #BeSo206

A fantastic, although very warm, start to the 9th Beeronomics conference in Bordeaux! An excellent plenary by Barry Watts from SIBA and the Independent Brewers of Europe! Looking forward to tomorrow’s sessions! #BeSo2026
