We set out our arguments more clearly here, using a number of case studies of 'intelligence led' football operations, some of which were superb, some of which were a shambles. But very few operations, good or bad, played out how the intelligence suggested they would.
This pair have been an absolute menace for the duration of me trying to write the Human Rights and Policing book. I really could do with the opposite of an Acknowledgements section to reference them in.

Thunderstorms, landslides and floods. The low point was when the car we hitched a lift in started to float. The worst weather the locals could recall in many years.
Was an eventful journey back from the writing retreat. After being stuck on the island for over two days with no boats going in or out.
Have had a productive and enjoyable writing retreat in lovely Hydra and a book will be forthcoming from it. However, any mistakes will be those of the many cats who have interfered with my efforts, rather than my own.
I'll be on The Law Show this week on Radio 4 (and BBC Sounds), talking about football fan legislation. The other topics on the show are criminal court delays and protest cases.
This is a fascinating development in the Aston Villa v Maccabi TA story, using the language of human rights. Collective expressions of identity by football fans are protected under the ECHR and HRA, but being able to buy tickets for a particular match clearly isn't.
