The puppy had a bath. The puppy was not happy about getting a bath. The puppy is expressing his displeasure (it’s not easy to see, but I promise he’s glaring at me).
You know what I didn’t show y’all a picture of? These smoked turkey collard greens that I ate on Tuesday night. One of the most perfect things I’ve ever tasted.
And, like, our current AQI reading is 20% higher than the max y-axis on that trend chart… Which I think merits the “obliterate” qualifier.
You know, as someone who concerns himself with time series data, it’s my professional opinion that when your time series obliterates the y-axis that it’s usually a notable event.
A breakaway at the start that’s able to hold off a rampaging peloton? Is this a good strategy?
No, no, these BEL uniforms are good! They’re a tribute to René Magritte, and the back of the shirts have this text on them:

I’m sitting here literally begging a small mammal to eat his breakfast. Why don’t you want breakfast, dog? You’re hungry. You didn’t eat that much dinner. Why are you making me beg?
“Oh, wait, I didn’t order being *cold*,” says the shivering dog who has curled himself into warm ball.
While you wait for pictures of Taylor’s wedding you can look at this picture from my 2011 wedding.
I’m learning that sometimes you get a long dog and sometimes you get a flat dog. When it’s 100° outside, it seems like the flat dog is the preferred morph. (I’m also learning that having a dog means that your floors are never clean.)
We’re without appliances in the kitchen for the next couple of weeks (a little lag between removal of the old and the delivery of the new), so we’re grilling and skewers and corn and drinking a good bottle of wine.
Our pre-dinner cocktail tonight was a riff on a white negroni: Gunpowder gin, grapefruit liqueur, kümmel liqueur, grapefruit bitters. I washed the glass in Suze. (Plasticware tonight because we’re in the midst of getting new kitchen appliances…)
I honestly wish I had any Adobe Illustrator skills whatsoever, because …
The puppy was not thrilled with the nervous soccer-related noises that were happening and demanded to be out of his crate and close enough to supervise the action. He’s, um, considerably more comfortable with the situation at the moment.
The 13yo is a bit under the weather today and Ozzie has nominated himself as caretaker. He’s been within arm’s length of the 13yo all day—following around, sitting close, cuddling in, watching vigilantly.
