#LunaModelJournal Teefs in mouth! Honestly, i feel like i could have made them a bit chunkier now that the model is in one piece. The reference for her only has 3 pairs of molars top/bottom, but the model ended up with 4 pairs...and of course i'm changing the reference! No way i'm baking again xD

Felt like taking my caliban's + pit of heresey 4 piece for a spin in Iron Banner today and turns out you can still ignite if you wombo combo it with the new jumpy hunter aspect! Also people are reaaaally sleeping on the Jade Rabbit rework 🐰💥

Also i over baked her toes, fingers and snout. I will go back and adjust the cage later, but for now, i'm happy to finally move on form retopo. If none of these words makes sense, you have made good life choices xD

#LunaModelJournal Back in Maya for retopology! I'm not 100% satisfied with the sculpt, but i'd fiddle around with it forever otherwise. It's good enough that any tweaks to her will be minor enough that i could just live surface the low poly into shape and bake the normal maps again! c:

And It works well enough! I get even geometry and it's easy to work with. The thing is, since they're not the same mesh, the normals can look a bit choppy. There are ways to work around this but i feel like i'm falling into sunk cost falacy and over engineering this bit.

#LunaModelJournal I hit the first hurdle in this project. Previously i was doing the eyelids separated from the body/head geometry. Otherwise i would have to cram a lot of edge loops in such a tiny area and the deformations would stretch the normal maps like crazy.

#LunaModelJournal I want to say i'm like ~90% of the way there with the sculpt! Her face is much better now that i overlayed the reference and adjusted to match. Her eyes were too small and in the wrong shape.

#LunaModelJournal Everything is normal Quite literally, i think it's the best material to spot irregularities in the surface 😅 Her body is coming along well but i'm not satisfied with her face. Snouts are super tricky to get right!

#LunaModelJournal I've decided to make a journal to share updates on my Luna model for those interested! I took the base mesh to Zbrush and i will be slowly chipping away at it. Getting the tail to mesh with the glutes anatomy is a big part of this project and i think this looks convincing enough

Tbf, of all the characters, the Cloudstriders were the ones to get the Mike Wazowski treatment with the ghost plastered over them. It's crazy that even Tyra Karn got more emblem real estate than the guys that had and entire expansion about them 😭
