PROSPLIGN
@prosplign
The PROSPLIGN project - PROSPecting natural LIGNin biodiversity towards unlocking value-added bioactive motifs and molecules - is a European funded Research and Innovation Action valorising lignin for the pharma, cosmetics and fragrance markets.
🟢By developing cutting-edge methodologies, we aim to unlock value-added 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and fragrance industries, leveraging lignin’s natural abundance and biodiversity.
📅 We are planning to attend 𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗕 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 this October -the forum that brings together global stakeholders from startups, companies, universities, and research centers to discuss advances in industrial biotechnology and bio-based solutions, emphasizing sustainability and the circular bioeconomy.

👉 #KelAda Pharmachem leverages its expertise in the development of “Green Chemistry” technologies and processes for application in the #pharmaceutical and #fine #chemicals industries. 🌳 The company is the PROSPLIGN coordinator, the core concept of which was born from their internal research.
🤝 Bryomolecules Project Collaboration! ➡️ Continuing our stellar cooperation with our sister #project we have agreed to move forward with the issuing of a common #WhitePaper on #Biodiversity Use. Stay tuned to learn more about it in the coming weeks!
🌶️ Hot of the press! 📰 Our second PROSPLIGN press release is out #communicating our #research to #pharmaceutical and #bioeconomy #media. 🔗 You can see the full press release on our project website here: prosplign.eu/press-releas...
☀️ Good morning from Granada, Spain! 🎈 We are here for the next two days with the whole PROSPLIGN consortium to go over our development of work and #lignin #valorisation and #bioprospecting #research results. 🙏 A big thank you to our partner #Fundacion #MEDINA for hosting us!
🔊 Shout out to our stellar #collaboration with our sister #European #Research #Executive #Agency (REA) - #Bryomolecules Project - including the issue of a common #WhitePaper and different ideas on #event and #webinar #synergies for 2026! ✅ Visit their website here to learn more: bryomolecules.eu
☀️ Good morning from Brussels and the Biorizon event organized by VITO and TNO. 📹 The small video from the session below highlights the participants’ projection for the #bioaromatics in the next years being used mostly in the #coatings, #constuction materials and #adhesive application markets.
📍 Four universities 🕍, two SMEs 💶 and a research institute 🔬 form the project consortium. The partners include: 👉 KelAda Pharmachem 👉 Magfi <Sustainability in Action> 👉 University of Helsinki 👉 Universidade Nova de Lisboa 👉 University College Dublin 👉 Berner Fachhochschule BFH 👉 Fundacion MEDINA
✔️ We have designed an #innovative #research process based upon mild, selective methods which preserve #lignin’s native #chemical #diversity and has allowed us to identify a notable amount of #bioactive #compounds in our mixtures! 👉 Navigate our project's website to learn more: prosplign.eu
Some fun (finally!) outside of #CPHI in Frankfurt at the end of October - the largest pharma event in Europe. We were there to explore possible exploitation pathways for our #antitumor and #antiinfective #lignin derived #bioactive compounds! Do you think pharma is ready to adopt natural extracts?
