(He/him) Heartful library gibbon. Late-stage commuter. Hey, let’s listen to some records and relax a bit. Powered by LGBTQ+ solidarity.
An evening with Yo La Tengo and then coming home to two new Taskmaster episodes. My cup runneth over. 😸
Tore my legs up walking around the hills of Laurel Canyon. There are no sidewalks so it was almost constant peril. Really want to do it again.
Oneida. They blew me away last night. I haven’t felt this rejuvenated by a good show in a long time. Incredible bill that I think was too perfect for Los Angeles. More people should’ve been there!
Tell me your favorite movie not many people know: “Out of the Dark” (1988) Women working as phone sex operators in DTLA are being stalked in succession by a clown guy named Bobo. They suspect Bud Cort down the hall. Memorable cameos from Tab Hunter, Paul Bartel and Divine. Feat. Karen Black.
“Everyone who is queer is LGBT.” “Not everyone who is LGBT is queer.” Never mind ignoring decades of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and (actual) queer political action… this fake contradiction serves no purpose. It kicks sand in the face of ally-ship and whatever progress is already receding.
A new definition of queer that only serves to tell people they’re not good enough to hang with the cool kids who seem to be doing all the work. Blows my mind that people still think like this in the current climate. Would they say this to a homeless teenager?
Probably my album of the year, actually. Everything… the writing, the production, the mood… is really fantastic. Beautiful stuff.
