I’ve seen some great reflecting pools in my photographic journey.
@weatherwest.bsky.social is looking at the models and not only using “superlatives” to describe the El Niño rainfall but combining the effects with a record breaking king tides in November. Looks like Europe got the heat, we get the floods.
Where did we miss the evolutionary step where we could nap anywhere? #caturday
This is the location where some of the Donner Party was found. Beauty and peace abound. Fascinating story to learn about American history and lessons that should be learned for today.
I took the convertible out for a drive up valley. Went to Inglenook for the first time in many years. (I used to work there) Such a beautiful place of preserved history and the fountains are so clear. #napavalley
Not being a fear monger, I want to piggyback on @weatherwest.bsky.social to emphasize the current trajectory of our El Niño, using the Las Trancas Park Napa River flood stage sculpture as reference. 1986 was big and the current measurements are showing potential to be bigger.
Here’s me practicing #artistic camouflage at Mare Island.
I feel like Independence Day movie was way more accurate a prediction than we thought, only the attacks come from the ground as data centers.
Taking 3 teenage boys and an adolescent border collie on a hike in the Sierras = peak Father’s Day energy.
Always love this view through oaks and rolling vineyards to Mt. Tamalpais.
Showcase my best artwork on Instagram and I can’t even get anyone to watch past the first few seconds. I’m barking up the wrong tree.
New composite photo. “Forest monolith”. Ancient columnar rock and old growth forest with waterfall at Archer Taylor Preserve. #landscape
I saw that the reflecting pool in DC is empty and being painted blue. I hope one day we can have nice things again.
Composite image from my escape to old growth trees in the mountains between Napa and Sonoma. #naturephotography
I took some photos for my friend of her daughter for high school prom and she gave me this beautiful bouquet. Photography begets #photography.
If you need a little boost, they have really cool stickers at Etsy.
Proud dad moment, hiking into the Grand Canyon with my teenage son. He’s faster than me.
So much fun showing the kids some of my geological nostalgia.
Composite #California art. “Poppy Path” taken at China Camp State Park last week.
Putting my eyes on a diet of wildflowers while I can. #California
This one is apparently ready for Spring. #caturday
Made it out for a bike ride to Yountville today. Doomscroll immunity.
Made another delicious digital composite from the shade of a shrubby oak.
