There's a lot going around about the lawsuit we filed in January to protect our trademarks, and we owe you an update.

We wish this lawsuit had not been necessary, and we want to acknowledge any hurt it has caused, especially in the LGBTQ+ community. We don't want to argue trademark law on social media. Importantly, we continue to want to resolve this.

As we have said to Pattie Gonia, we can do that if they:

- Withdraw all trademark applications

- Stop using our logos

- Stop selling and promoting apparel and other products as Pattie Gonia

If we can agree on this, we can work out everything else, and Pattie Gonia could continue as a performer and activist. We share common ground with them, including the goal of saving our home planet and creating a more inclusive outdoors.

@JesseBrown - When hateful antizionists weaponize Islamic faith as an intimidation tactic against a Jewish neighbourhood, one wonders why mainstream Imams stay silent. They used to be quick to say most Muslims want nothing to do with this kind of hostility.

For our last week of teaching our keywords for the week were working + play so I taught them about some basic game design theory (affordances, signifiers, constraints) and gave them time to play some free browser-based games in groups to explore the concepts!

When pressed in the university Senate on Nov. 7, president Graham Carr first offered a confident figure: roughly $6.3 million in savings. That precision quickly dissolved under scrutiny.

When asked whether these figures included the cost of hiring part-time instructors to replace LTAs, Carr admitted they did not.

Interim provost Effrosyni Diamantoudi later supplied a more modest figure: "at least $1 million" in savings after hiring part-timers, a figure that still excludes recruitment and interview costs.
