Plummy, jammy, dense, and chewy.
Turned 59 today. Came home and found nothing in the mailbox except this. Ugh. In related news, Danny de Vito is very happy to be 81 and fully in his Ed McMahon stage.
My 84 y.o. old dad checked out some CDs by the Cure at the library last week and now this is his profile pic on Instagram.
Merriam-Webster engaging in some light nerd-bashing in one of their newest games.
My parents were married on 7/10/65. They say the secret of their longevity is: small lies, cheap beer, & laughter. Lots of it. Mom says the same thing about Dad that Anne Bancroft said about Mel Brooks: "I get excited when I hear his key in the door; I know the party's about to start" (paraphrasing)
I know, I know---I could be in Europe where it's much worse, but it's damn near 1130p & still feels like 92. A week into summer. Ugh. What's even worse is I've become something I never thought I'd be: someone who posts a forecast screenshot. Time to watch Fortitude & yearn for the cold
Fell asleep during Frasier & woke up to one of my fave scenes from Transparent. Having waited tables during college, I recognize Vicki as that customer who thinks 5 bucks is a great tip no matter how high the bill or how much they've run you ragged. Now, *20%* is when they stab you.
She walked so Patricia could run. What a great Widow's Bay last night! "20 on 3" 🤣
Update: the five minutes it took me to open this gorgeous '22 Seghesio zinfandel was totally worth it.
I didn't know it was possible to love Widow's Bay any more than I already do, and then THIS happened!!!!!!
If your mom is hard to buy for mine, may I suggest a bottle of gasoline?
Saw this on the WW app. It stuns me that there are people who won't even risk trying a condiment they might not like w/o input from 1000 strangers. That's right, more than 1K people helped resolve this quandary. Sadly, "Buy it, don't buy it, who the fuck cares" wasn't an option.
Fuck that plums poem. The Young Housewife is superior. Does this make me a sociopath? Maybe.
Britannica getting topical today.... Thanks for not 86ing this question, Britannica.
I found a new therapist. If she doesn't begin sessions with "I feel for you" or "Tell me something good," I'm outta there.
Not great that "civilization" is a top lookup, although I guess it's good that people are turning to the dictionary instead of Grok or Claude or Clomper or Gadzook.
My family after I shared Trump's 7:03 a.m. truth in the family thread:
Me, after watching "Inside the Manosphere" and two episodes of "Neighbors" in the same weekend:
The last saved photo of a celebrity is your therapist (I am well and truly fucked)
I'm decluttering and this fell out of one of the dozens of mostly empty Moleskines I've been holding on to since I guess....2000????
