It’s a beautiful spring day, and I have been out on my bike.

There’s a Mackinac Roundtable on Talent and a Mackinac Policy Conference you could maybe swing an invite to? I liked it best in the early morning, before the crowds arrived. Got a great deal on a hotel on the island that year.

Not from this winter, but trust that the same thing is happening this winter. Apollo loves his frisbee, he loves snow, and the BEST thing in the world is chasing a frisbee in the snow. He could do it for hours.

Apollo, a yellow lab/shepherd mix dog, and his emotional support frisbee, which he has chomped into a taco shape. It’s less aerodynamic that way but he doesn’t care. He’s running in the snow, and the sheer number of paw prints shows that he’s been running back and forth so. much.

Not a lot of riding for me this year; I trained for spring/fall half marathons and did one sprint tri. That still gave me 650+ miles on the bike, mostly in summer! This year I’ve got gravel on my mind, racing and just riding. I planned a new local route last winter and have yet to ride it.

Would someone tell me how this happened? We were the fucking vanguard of shaving in this country. The Gillette Mach3 was the razor to own. Then the other guy came out with a three-blade razor. Were we scared? Hell, no. Because we hit back with a little thing called the Mach3Turbo. That's three blades and an aloe strip. For moisture. But you know what happened next? Shut up, I'm telling you what happened—the bastards went to four blades.

We also have a white sofa and it looks absolutely gorgeous in the room. Or did originally. It’s still very comfy but the white fabric has not at all held up to five years of kids (now 14 and 12) and dogs (which we did not have when we bought the sofa).

Pristine white sofa in my living room, in the glow of afternoon light. Ozzy, a cat, is perched on the cushion with his paws tucked underneath him, not creating stains or bothering anybody at all.

Recliner, couch, office chair… I have so many photos of baby naps like this. At night we coslept (the only way I got decent sleep). We had bed rails on both sides of the bed to prevent baby from rolling off the side. Baby is about to turn 12.
