Yeah, it’s a federal court thing. A lot of jurors from Spokane were called, but were cut for one reason or another. Many had consumed a lot of news about the case, or had friends at the protest. Attached is a pic of the federal court district lines.

Right now, Pennell is working on handling the witness lists and a motion from the feds to exclude SPD Chief Kevin Hall from the defense's witness list.

Chief Hall was listed as a potential witness on Defendant Forral’s and
Archer’s joint witness list. The United States spoke with Chief Hall regarding his
potential testimony if called. Chief Hall indicated he was not present at the sce

, 2025, and does not have direct knowledge of any of the events of the
day occurring at the Cataldo building.
Chief Hall indicated he believes his testimony will center on various
meetings which have occurred between his agency and other organizations
including SCAR (Spokane Community Against Racism), PJALS (Peace and
Justice Action League Against Spokane) and other similar community groups
before and after the incident occurring on June 11, 2025. Jac Archer is a leader
within those organizations and has presented themself as a leader during meetings.
One of the purposes of the meetings was to determine what protest behavior could
occur within city limits and SPD’s possible response. According to Chief Hall,
Archer was present during most of the meetings; Justice Forral was present during
at least one.
The United States moves to exclude any impermissible hearsay testimony
that may be elicited from Chief Hall. This would include the contents of any
meeting, any discussion about planning protests, or any conversation between any
of the defendants and Chief Hall

While Spokane County has turned off their Flock cameras, at least temporarily, our quest to map active Flock cameras in the region continues. Thanks to a public records request on MuckRock, we now know that Deer Park, WA has 14 Flock cameras, at least as of early 2025.

We are posted up outside LC High School here in Spokane, where hundreds of students have walked out of their class in protest of ICE. LC is one of six schools across the Spokane participating in the walkout, which was organized at a lunch table last Thursday.

Photojournalist Sandra Rivera was on scene yesterday to document a vigil in response to Good's killing, where more than 50 folks gathered at the fountain in Riverfront Park to mourn her and prepare the community for continued action against ICE.

The ACLU hopes the legislation will enshrine strong limitations on the use of Flock cameras, according to a summary of its proposals obtained by RANGE:

Limit the “types of public agencies that can operate ALPRs in Washington to law enforcement, parking enforcement, tolling, and transportation agencies.”
Ban agencies “from using ALPRs for immigration investigations and enforcement, and from collecting data around sensitive locations such as facilities that offer protected health care services.”
Ban agencies from using Flock cameras to surveil protesters. (In the first half of this year, various outside law enforcement used Spokane County cameras to search for vehicles at protests.)
Limit the amount of time police can keep data on vehicles that are not flagged as being connected to crimes to three minutes.
Requires agencies to report to an oversight authority how it is using the ALPR data. (That oversight authority has not been identified, Sannon said.)

Now, after waiting five months for our records request to be filled, we know they were. Though WA law prohibits this kind of compliance with out-of-state agencies who are looking to prosecute abortion seekers, it did not prevent Spokane County’s data from being searched for that reason.
