Today was a really great day. I am too full of food and wine to get into details, but we went to an exhibit on the art and history of tarot cards and another exhibit of the sculptures of Leonora Carrington. Then dinner at an awesome vegan restaurant. More pics tomorrow.

Amazing how much better I feel after a good night's sleep, therapy, and massive amounts of antiinflammatories. Oh and a haircut, beard trim, gay powers, yadda yadda yadda.

Went to the gym and for a run today. Rough one with the heat and humidity but I persevered. If you need me, I'll be collapsed on chaise lounge with a book and coffee.

Andrew Wyeth's "The Witching Hour." I don't understand why this painting fills me with dread but it does.

Too hot to run outside so I took to the treadmill. It was rough, but I hit a personal best today. Now I'm still sweating even after taking a cold shower. Time for chips and salsa, lots of water, and a dragon queen.

I saw a hummingbird on this coral honeysuckle today. I love this plant, which I think I planted our first year here. The flowers are gorgeous, and I see hummingbirds on it a few times each summer. #nativeplants 🌱

The face of someone who took a Xanax at 4 am to fend off anxiety so he woke up groggy af, finally got breakfast together and took it out the porch, was enjoying the peace and quiet, only for the neighbor to start blasting music and a dog to start yapping.

My cat Wendell is so weird. He likes to roll on the floor and stick his head in this cinder block that I use as the base for my altar. He only does then I'm taking care of the snakes and spiders, which are just out of frame by his back feet. What the hell is he doing?

Started the germination process for Solomon's seal today. It's a finicky native plant that attracts pollinators and does well in shade. The seeds need a cold period, a warm period, and another cold period before they will sprout. They're in a bag of moist sand in the fridge now. #plantdad 🌱

Friday, I went for a run and then gardened the rest of the day. Yesterday, we walked almost the entire length of the High Line in NYC. Today, I went for another run. My feet and legs hate me. Rubbings, please?

I got some new shirts recently so I had my hubs take some pics for a BlueSky fashion show. The awesome t-shirts are from @whistberry.bsky.social . The other shirt I bought at the Crawfish Festival last weekend and it was stupidly expensive but I love it.

Having a great time at Crawfish Festival, a Louisiana/Cajun music festival in northern NJ. The Rebirth Brass Band just tore it up. I think this is the first hurricane I've had since being in New Orleans in 2024.
