Posted by the US President a few hours ago. Can anyone make sense of this? Why do these three men have feather quills poised over a map? Why is there a gas station road map folded up to the side? This picture is as incoherent as his statements are.

Strange juxtaposition of an image of George Washington that looks like a painting, Abraham Lincoln more photo-realistic, and Donald Trump with his trademark "stern" face. Lincoln and Trump are dressed in tuxedos; Washington has a frilly lace collar under his long coat.

All three figures hold writing quills in their right hands. The points of the quills seem to be touching a map, but all three figures are looking straight at the viewer, not at the map. The map appears to be an old-time, hand-drawn type, though there is a folded document on the right side of the picture that could be a gas station road map.

The colors are dark, somber, sepia-toned, with the background indistinct but resembling an office or den, as near as we can tell.

Is anyone paying attention to these history rewrites? Noble Confederates, approved by Abe? I mean, anyone who can actually do anything about impeaching the guy, or using the 25th Amendment, before something REALLY bad happens?

This looks like an image of a polished bronze plaque set into a masonry wall. The bottom of the plaque says "THE CIVIL WAR * 1861-1865"
The relief seems to show Abraham Lincoln flanked by two Civil War soldiers, one wearing what a Confederate Army officer's hat and bearing the Confederate battle flag, and the other wearing a Union Army cap and holding a long rifle, with the Stars and Stripes behind him. On the Confederate side a wheeled cannon is visible in the lower quadrant of the image.
Two laurel branches extend from a medallion at the top center; each ends in three bronze stars, though each set of three has a weirdly six-pointed star (not a Star of David) in mirror symmetry.
There are shapes and forms filling in the right and left to about shoulder height of the soldiers — they look like they might be intended to represent bodies and broken military equipment, but they are really just a jumble of shapes.
The three men are all looking at something off in the distance, apparently.

As of a few hours ago, here's how the 80-year-old president of the United States decided to portray himself on his vanity social medium. How is this OK?

An obviously retouched photo of Donald Trump's face at a younger age, pasted by software onto what looks like Evel Knievel's body, wearing at least the top part of a motorcycle daredevil's leather jumpsuit. The suit is decorated with Swarovski-style crystals in various colors, and has a crystal and/or embroidery bald eagle design on the left breast, possibly echoed on the right, as the model is turned slightly away from the camera's POV. The suit is unzipped almost to the figure's navel. There's a stand microphone on the left of the picture, casting a shadow onto the figure's bare chest.

Posted yesterday that "The Claw" was still up at the White House. Today's cam shows they've gotten rid at least of the tallest part. Here's the Kennedy Center "repair" they are obscuring with a huge tarp (to spare DJT embarassment, futilely)

Gasoline price hit $2.29 today in our town. Wrong on so many levels, but interesting that when I filled up my family's VW bus in 1969 for a date, the cost was about the same in real terms. My question: when do we tumble to the con they are putting over on the REAL cost of oil?

A rocky, narrow "box canyon" with yellow sandstone reflecting the sun and white limestone lining the stream bed in the foreground. No doubt others have covered this, but I just found out that on July 23 the official government account of DHS posted this blatantly racist, white supremacist tweet filled with winks and nudges. Where are the calls for investigation? 😱

This is a reproduction of a famously racist, propagandistic painting showing white settlers taming the continent and driving wildlife and Indigenous people before them into the "dark and wild" part of the continent. The post itself contains racist signals like 14 words, HH for Heil Hitler, A and D capitalized for "1" and "4" and so on

Great pic, nice bike. KLR? I ride Pueblo, Apache, and Navajo country here in northern NM. Santa Fe also has an old internment camp site; they sent only male "criminals" to that one, so that's something the current GOP copied. "Save your Confederate money, boys, the South shall rise again!" 🙄
