Here you go (Interlochen has a nice photo archive on their website--this was taken by one of the (unidentified) staff photographers. I was in the audience somewhere (this is in Kresge).
In light of today's inflation news, perhaps it's time for those of us who remember 1974 to dig out these buttons again...
Omar Thomas will conduct his banned work in Watertown WI on Wednesday evening. I'm guessing the band will include some students & local educators who have all programmed the piece in recent years without incident (incl. some former students). Thanks to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran for hosting!
I'm assuming this photo will now generate more memes than before. I'm not Catholic, but am becoming a big Pope Leo fan.
This one was a real gem (1942). Lots of info, but a good bit of it, um, suspect. The 19th-century ones are more interesting and mostly just the facts (if one ignores the “these are the Indians we chased way” parts).
I'm guessing they could make this/these hearing(s) pay-per-view and fund public broadcasting into the next century.
A little wildlife hanky-panky going on in the backyard this morning (this is why I can't grow flowers here):
We were cloudy last night and missed the bright colors everyone else in the state saw. But things are picking up tonight, so maybe we'll get even more color as the evening moves along.

So we aren't going to AMS this year & received this yesterday (we donate the registration to scholarship funds instead of wanting a refund). Note the highlighted passage (ignoring the typo): we have attended annual meetings for over 40 years & don't recall this sort of rudeness in comms before...

Challenge: post your last photo taken in DC to show what a hell hole it is. No outdoor pictures last time, but here's a WPA kid's show poster I looked at. And my lovely walk in the LOC neighborhood in the evening was [not at all] scary.

Timeline cleanser. These two are eating everything in our backyard, but they're too cute to bother.
Everything is pretty horrible, but here's what's going on in my yard tonight (yes, 3 fawns--this is the mama on the twins, but apparently she and the other doe trade playdates and feeding). Thankful for the distraction (and the fences around the vegetable gardens)!
I am so, so sorry. I can't think of many worse things. Here's a picture from my yard this afternoon, which won't make things better, but maybe make you smile, however briefly:
We moved to a wooded older subdivision & have abundant wildlife (lots of deer). We've enclosed vegetable gardens & given up on flower gardens. We enjoy (mostly) the new fawns & this evening discovered that the doe who hangs in our yard had twins again this year. Destructive but they are cute!
