After a week of writing, this is the perfect day for a rose latte at a fancy cafe ☕
At home today, as I needed two screens. Was at my favourite coffee shop yesterday though — best banana muffins ever! #FreelanceFriends
Today's math: 3 km beach walk >> writing a 3,000-word blog I mean, the blog topic was cool and everything, but writing on a deadline doesn't fill the cup as much as walking beside the sun & water.
Writing at a coffee shop without WiFi makes it really difficult to research the important things. Like "how do different cultures cut fruit" or "how to spell wierd"
TIL that Google tracks when I work on different documents. Likely where too. 👀
1,372 words written today. Well below the goal, but I figured out a way through some complex plot mechanics that should make writing the next chapter so much easier. Also fried some peanuts because apparently, not writing counts as writing. #AmWriting
This is a brilliant Easter egg from Sentry: right-clicking their site logo opens this download page...which you can customize! Thank you from marketers and web developers everywhere.
Me, a freelancer, realizing I have to do the accounting and IT support too
Thank you, Star Trek: TNG opening credits, for preparing us for the far side of the moon
Even after decades of inspiration from sci-fi shows & books, nothing compares to #ArtemisII. I will quote Star Trek, though, the episode titled, "Ad Astra per Aspera" — "To the stars through hardship." Encapsulates everything that's going on and the people getting us through it. Image: NASA

"The sun did not shine. It was too wet to play. So we sat in the house. All that cold, cold, wet day." — The Cat in the Hat, Dr. Suess
Today's writing is powered by Murchie's lavender black tea, a Canadian purveyor that's been around since 1894 🇨🇦 #AmWriting
Having a nice Canadian Breakfast while writing this morning. Because it feels good to be Canadian this week 🇨🇦 #AmWriting
Need to go to Art House more often: It's a creaky warren of cozy rooms and eclectic art, and they have one of the best London Fogs in Ottawa.
Trivia fans in #Ottawa, check out this fundraiser by Twice Upon a Time / Il était deux fois — they give free books to kids to foster a love of reading at home. twiceuponatime.ca
Brilliant first episode! Solid story and action, and Holly Hunter makes a great series lead. So glad #StarTrek continues to evolve its universe in different ways 🖖🏽
The downward spiral of Grammarly continues with...lead gen ads in the *middle of typing chat messages* The broken image link encapsulates how well thought out this is.
Someone made patishapta for a dinner party, and it was the best dessert dish: a crepe filled with a thickened mixture of sweet goodness. Usually have the kheer version, but this one was coconut + jaggery — so good 🤤
Today's writing session at this magnificent space where there's always parking, always a table (with different vibes from cafeteria to coffee lounge!), plenty of sunlight, solid WiFi, and cheap eats. #AmWiting
