I love fishing, photography, food, and walking. I'm new to social media and no expert on political issues but I have a long history of trying to be a good person. 68 yo. Native New Orleanian. Louisiana boy and American through and through.
Walked right up to a wood thrush the other day. His flying skills were not the greatest and I thought he was injured, but he flew away. Had to be a juvenile.
My maternal grandfather emigrated from County Cork in the early 20th century.
Reminds of this photo of Monty. I saw this stick on his neck at the beginning of our walk. Notoriously lazy and clearly not bothered by it, he left it there for 45 minutes.
Clip the valve stems on their tires! It can be done quickly and without being noticed.
Just pulled this out of the oven. Orange chicken in a clay pot. Girlfriend got herself up and dressed just to come get some.
Birds in motion are really tough to shoot. I don't have the lenses for it. I have to hope that I can get close enough to get a still shot. I think this is a juvenile green heron.
One of the benefits of living in New Orleans is the fact that everybody knows someone who goes trawling for shrimp. In this case, it was the friend of a friend. These shrimp were swimming in Lake Pontchartrain last night. 20-25/lb, $3/lb I live alone. 10 lbs of shrimp will last me until Christmas.
I live near the Mississippi River and there is a great walking/biking trail that runs parallel to the river. Lots of animal life. Here is a diamondback water snake from yesterday.
